I'd just thought I throw in that all bands change and they ALWAYS lose a bunch of fans along the way, has happened to me a few times, I know it makes you mad or whatever but they're not going to stay the same just for you so just find a new band to love

Pearl Jam changed their sound to get off the radio and it improved their fanbase in the long run. Radiohead changes their sound to please themselves and nobody else(Kid A).

I'm all for a band changing their sound if it's for the right reasons. Pearl Jam changed their sound to get off the radio and it improved their fanbase in the long run. Radiohead changes their sound to please themselves and nobody else(Kid A). The Kings changed their sound to appeal to a broader U.S audience(Sex On Cliche). Will somebody tell me how Kings Of Leon did not sell out. This is all your opinion, personally I don't think KOL sold-out at all, they just sold more records this time. Ironically I think the only people who have sold-out is KOL fans, who are now turning their backs on a band they used to ' love', just because they can't have them all to themselves anymore. But please - don't act like your opinion is right, it's all a matter of taste. |

They are only a BAND......it's only ENTERTAINMENT not life and death, or even football (joke) Music is there for enjoyment, it can be really uplifting and important to people, but if you don't like what you are hearing go listen to something else - there's some great stuff out there, each to his/her own taste It really DOESN"T MATTER if someone thinks the Kings are crap, or thinks that they have sold out. Personally I listen to what I like, less to what I like less and not at all to stuff I don't and I'm not in the business of trying to make someone like what they don't, or put them off stuff they do like. What are YOU trying to do?? I can only think you're getting into an unhealthy stew over this and I'm starting to worry that you are not enjoying life because of OBTN - you seem to take it so seriously. Thank you for all your posts, - haven't got the time or inclination to reply to them all (my but haven't you been busy!! hahaha!) and I respect your opinion. I'm sorry I gave my opinion on a thread that's called WHERE KINGS OF LEON LOST IT. Some people on here are just babies. I've seen the Kings 10 times since 2004 and still love them. They just aren't my favorite band of all time. Lyrics that are all about sex don't speak to my soul all the time,sorry. I'll stop posting and you noobs can go back into the band section of the forum. That's where all the real fans post because it's all about the music right. Fuckin Joke. the reason some regulars dont post in this thread is because each opinion put forward is ripped apart and people resort to name calling and nasty comments instead of debating in a decent manner. I actually joined this board a couple years ago when I had tix to see the Kings in Boston. They no-showed last minute for Calebs hangover. Then I won tickets to see them @ the Paradise in Boston and Caleb threw a tantrum,spit @ the crowd and stormed off. This was supposed to be the makeup show for the no-show. I've seen them ten times because I love the first three records. I get annoyed with people like Lauralimonada that can't handle a fan being upset with one of their favorite bands. You probably care more about their looks then their music. You can't handle their selling out which they obviously did. I used to love the band til I found out they love themselves more. They sound great live but have a horrible stage presence. You probably love everything they do Laura.  |

Don't worry Kim- why would I like a band for their music? OMG it's all about Caleb's baby blues, Jared's chin, Nathans luscious locks and Matt's dimples... I mean, why the heck would I have spent thousands (seriously thousands) of dollars traveling around to see a band? Of course it was to see their gorgeousness in person! I mean, youtube videos can only do so much! Music? What music? I wear super-strength ear plugs at all the shows! Why contaminate the juicy goodness with noise???! Oh well... I didn't know there was such a controversy over here! I must confess I am kind of disappointed with the new album, which does not mean I don't like it, but I thought it would be different. I saw the band in july and they blew me away, so they haven't lost anything, that's for sure. A band will do different albums, and it is almost impossible that absolutely every record is better than the one before. If they managed to do that, they would be The Beatles! By the way, hello everyone!! It's been a while since the last time I was here! |
