i have absouletly no idae what this thread sis about or what the opening opinions are to me kings of leon have only lost there drug addictions and cool beards, music still kicks major ass though and thats what matters,i dont care if some chav has sex on fire on his ringtone,i can honestly say that ive been spreading the word about the kings for years since i first heard yaym and to see them become as big as ive already predicted makes me proud, roll on december 'ave it! as ive said before 'no fucker will take away my right to sing pistols of fire at 3am walking about the streets drunk with my friends' and thats my two cents BEST COMMENT EEEEEEEEEEEVER ,SEE YOU AT THE CARDIFF GIG I agree.

ok i love kings of leon and will always go see them when they come to australia! but in saying this i have found some points where i feel they are slipping away from me. these in my opinion are where in time i think the boys have started to lose it (in no particular order). 1.jared actually learnt how to play bass and he found a distortion/fuzz pedal 2. nathan found off beats this started in bott 3.they shaved the beards! the beards! 4.caleb stoped the check 1 2 3! that was awsome 5.caleb cut his hair short! 6.matt found a effects bored 7.nathan got rid of the pink kit 8.caleb, matt and jared got into fashion-leave that to the kooks. 9.they are getting into relationships, this is starting to ruin there dirty image. and my final one is.... sex on fire! it has ruined the kings for all true fans. no longer will it be easy to get a kings of leon concert ticket, and everyone one thinks they are a huge fan because of this one song! i still love them dont get me wrong, and the first time i listened to holy roller novocaine ep, it changed my musical life. i would like to see what other people have to say on this topic. I appreciate what you're saying here and I understand exactly where you're coming from, that was quite a cool post, but you have to let the little bird fly. It can't live in the little birdhouse all the time. you know? It has to go off and grow into the eagle/ostrich/penguin/griffin-of-rock (delete metaphors as you see fit.)

I agree, if people dont like this album because they think theyve lost it, well then lets wait and see what album 5 has to offer, ive always said im just glad these boys are still passionate about playing music and want to make albums and they always want to try and make every album different and in my opinion they have succeeded. Who cares if they have girlfriends? theyve got to settle down at some point! i think if they done any more s******g about it would fall off! LOL And Calebs cut his hair, true i do prefer the old look but i dont think he's a changed person because he's cut his hair, they still know how to rock and im sure this tour in December will prove it!

they've still got it ! they haven't lost anything within their music, they've matured as people (by ditching drugs etc) and so has their music if it stayed the same people would be complaining that all their stuff sounds the same i still love 'em and cant wait for what they have in store

I remember when The Killers released Sam's Town, everyone moaned about how it wasn't as good as Hot Fuss. Personally, I think it's the strongest album of the two. But that's by the by. Do we really want the boys, sounding like a bunch of middle-aged pervs, singing about their whiskey dicks when they're sliding into their 30's? It's called maturity. Growing as a band. I don't care what they do, so long as they keep on doing it. Before KOL and The Killers, the music world was a very sad place, indeed.

i think i understand what you mean about the rawness of the old stuff. cold desert is the closet they get on the new album but i still really enjoy it. to me, it still sounds like kol, it just a more polished kol. i'd like to see them get a bit more gritty/dirty with their sound - maybe the next album. could use a few more screams too lol
i love that caleb cut his hair, he looks so much nicer now.
i no nohting about off beats and pedals, so cant comment on that

Saying the music world was a sad place before the Killers and Kings Of Leon is a joke. Kings Of Leon is a great band atleast but The Killers are a fuckin joke. They aren't even in the same league as Radiohead, Pearl Jam, or Queens Of The Stone Age. Those are important bands that push the boundries of rock. I love KOL'S sound but they aren't as talented as lot of bands out there. I'll admit they are great live but they should be when they only play 90 mins. every night. Maybe they should try to change a setlist every once in a while. The Killers make Coldplay look like Led Zeppelin.

to even put queens of the stone age in the same bracket as pearl jam and radiohead is a contradiction in terms, kings of leon arent in the same bracket as radiohead just yet but they will be,i reckn in the next few years theres going to a massive influx of kol influenced bands, kings of leon will be a band that leaves behind a legacy
and how can you say they arent as talented as such and such, how is that relevant? firsty kings of leon are a very talented band ,one of the only bands i listen to that i love every single sense of musicianship they produce, and secondly how is their talent in doubt after they have made great albums(some greater than others mind)
i really dont understand what your trying to say dude

Me neither.
Though I do understand what you are saying Ross, and hell yeah! I agree completely. I think KOL will leave a legacy.
Also, I do not appreciate this Killers insulting, I may have to hurt someone.
EDIT: Oh and last time I checked the Kings certainly still had it.
