I didn't mean to offend som many killers fans. Your parents must have been huge soft cell fans. As far as saying Queens Of The Stone Age aren't in the same league as Radiohead or Pearl Jam I'm a little confused. They are one of the most original hard rocking bands of our time. The Queens never made an album as bas as Only By The Night. I know it's rushed but it's a sad excuse for an album. They should have put the first five tracks out as an ep and never dropped Ethan Johns from producing. Kings Of Leon will bounce back with album five but they will never be in the same league as Radiohead. One string guitar solos can't hold a candle to Jonny Greenwoods playing. The only musician in Kings with alot of ability is Nathan and after a couple albums it starts to show. Nathan is fucking amazing though.

Jared even said himself that they never saw anyone rock as hard as the Queens Of The Stone Age. Then they made a midtempo u2 record.

Saying the music world was a sad place before the Killers and Kings Of Leon is a joke. I'm entitled to my opinion, just as you are entitled to yours. I lost interest in music for a long time, reasons of which I don't intend to go into, The Killers and KOL brought me back into what once used to be my massive passion in life. Kings Of Leon is a great band atleast I love KOL'S sound but they aren't as talented as lot of bands out there. I'll admit they are great live but they should be when they only play 90 mins. every night. Maybe they should try to change a setlist every once in a while Two questions. 1. Do you consider yourself a fan after that little statement? 2. What are you doing on this board? Or are you one of those people that just registers on message boards to get a rise out of people? Seriously. Oh, and Pearl Jam and Radiohead are indeed great bands. Massively influential. But QOTSA? No. Just no.

what? i think your high
you opinions of the queens of the stone age are as debatable as your opinions on killers, its a completely different argument altogether,an argument about personal taste
since when did musicianship have an effect on great bands, some of the greatest songs ever written have been fairly simple ,fact,it doesnt matter about how impressive it looks on sheet music when it has an effect on your soul when you listen to it,thats what music is
you posts are getting more and more confusing, what is your actual point in the first place? that kings of leon arent a great band? or that they lack musical talent?
and so jared says queens of the stone age are the hardest rocking band out there? thats also debatable,i think what your actually getting at is that this album isnt rock enough for you? its not rock enough for me either but some of the songs have a hold on me
your actually confusing the hell outta me so whatever dude
kings of leon ,december ,lets have it!

You're clearly not happy here.

I'm sorry I gave my opinion on a thread that's called WHERE KINGS OF LEON LOST IT. Some people on here are just babies. I've seen the Kings 10 times since 2004 and still love them. They just aren't my favorite band of all time. Lyrics that are all about sex don't speak to my soul all the time, sorry. I'll stop posting and you noobs can go back into the band section of the forum. That's where all the real fans post because it's all about the music right. Fuckin Joke.

I will admit Ball and Biscuit that some of the most simple music is the best. I have more of a problem with their production direction now instead of their old raw sound. I hope this never happens to The Strokes.

^^ oh my god! I'm all for people being free to post their opinions etc about KOL but these last 2 posts (there is an edit button btw) are just unnecessary! your more than entitled to voice your opinion, but why call forum members names??? And, who the fuck are you to judge what people on this forum talk about in the band section or any other section of HA? ?

well not all of the lyrics are about sex, another point that you made isnt valid
secondly i appreciate the fact you have an opinion and arent afraid to say what your thinking,i just dont see what all the criticism is with the new album,i was a bit shocked at firstt with it but its grown on me now,and yes its the producers influence thats cause it but some of your comments were a bit off the point
what you on about with the real fans thing aswell? your confusing me especially with your love hate thing with kings of leom
the strokes on the other hand hope they get there fingers out of there asses and get a record out

Saying the music world was a sad place before the Killers and Kings Of Leon is a joke. Kings Of Leon is a great band atleast but The Killers are a fuckin joke. They aren't even in the same league as Radiohead, Pearl Jam, or Queens Of The Stone Age. Those are important bands that push the boundries of rock. I love KOL'S sound but they aren't as talented as lot of bands out there. I'll admit they are great live but they should be when they only play 90 mins. every night. Maybe they should try to change a setlist every once in a while. The Killers make Coldplay look like Led Zeppelin. Mate comparing the Killers to QOTSA or Radiohead is just plain fecking stupid!, they are all dramatically different bands, I like QOTSA but i also love the Killers and in YOUR opinion they are a joke but a lot of people on here like them, and because someone said that the music world was a sad place before the Killers and KOL came along is her opinion and who are you to shoot her down for it? Everyone likes different types of bands if we were all into the same music the world would be a pretty boring place! KOL are fantastic live and ARE bloody good talented musicians! Sorry for the rant people

I sincerely apologize if I hurt anyones feelings with my earlier Killers remark. I was having a shit day at work and made a bit of an asshole statement. The Killers aren't my cup of tea but there is far worse music being made. I have seen the Kings ten times and they aren't my favorite band. The only bands I have seen live that I liked better are Radiohead(12 times),Pearl Jam(25 times)and the Queens Of The Stone Age.If you get a chance to see any of these bands you most definately should. I think you can still be a big fan of the band and still critique them. They are making damn good money to get drunk and make music so if they make a song as bad as revelry-be somebody, we should be allowed to comment. They should have just made an ep of the first 5 songs and Cold Desert. It doesn't have to be a sprint to make albums. Do what Tool does and pace yourselves.

But pllleaasse dont say Revelry is a bad song...its fucking gorgeous. And while this album is very different and there's a few songs i skip, i think Revelry is one of the strongest on there. Anyhoo whatever floats your boat i suppose And ps. Just reading over the last few pages i would say it was your comments about the boys musical ability and the HA'ers that really pissed people off. Just a thought

ok i love kings of leon and will always go see them when they come to australia! but in saying this i have found some points where i feel they are slipping away from me. these in my opinion are where in time i think the boys have started to lose it (in no particular order). 1.jared actually learnt how to play bass and he found a distortion/fuzz pedal 2. nathan found off beats this started in bott 3.they shaved the beards! the beards! 4.caleb stoped the check 1 2 3! that was awsome 5.caleb cut his hair short! 6.matt found a effects bored 7.nathan got rid of the pink kit 8.caleb, matt and jared got into fashion-leave that to the kooks. 9.they are getting into relationships, this is starting to ruin there dirty image. and my final one is.... sex on fire! it has ruined the kings for all true fans. no longer will it be easy to get a kings of leon concert ticket, and everyone one thinks they are a huge fan because of this one song! i still love them dont get me wrong, and the first time i listened to holy roller novocaine ep, it changed my musical life. i would like to see what other people have to say on this topic. Well that's your opinion man - I won't take it away from you or anything like that. But I don't agree, I don't think KOL are 'losing it' - their just changing (as do all good bands). Sure OBTN may be my least favorite record they've sut so far, but songs like Manhatten, Cold Desert, Crawl, and Sex on Fire (I've been a fan of KOL since YAYM, but I still like this song, and I don't think theirs anything wrong with that. Sure, every annoying scenester kid has it as their ringtone now - but I don't think that takes away from the music itself). Like I've said before, I don't like bands that repeat themselves just because the formula worked for them before - so I always appreciate a band willing to take risks and try something different, and that's what I believe KOL have done on OBTN (as they have with all their other albums). Just my two cents
