haha yesterday i tried to sing into my pick up...but i didn't hear anything out of my amp so i sang even louder...well...either way my pick ups are not made for singing into them to create that wicked sound...or i just sang too loud so i couldn't hear anything else

anyways i LOVE the start of 'closer' when the first bass note rings and then the drums come in...it sounds sooo amazing when i listen to it reeeeally loud in my car! love it!

im pretty sure hes suspending a note whilst probably blowing into the pickups or something..

ud need to have some serious volume and feedback going on to do it.

Well, all I know is we can't do it here on any of our guitars...and...why would Matt then go on to play from there with a knackered pickup any way?

It must be more what you clever people are saying. I did think he had to be using a string in some way, but I don't know much (lets be honest - any!) techy stuff. I REALLY would like to know the answer to this one. Especially as my son doesn't believe it.
