This thread is making me sad. OBTN is a step on the path to all conquering god-like greatness, not a loathsome blip. I, for one, love it for being the album that hooked me in and introduced me to the other three, which I love just as much.

Woooeeeee!!!  Being a new fan,this is especially awesome news cuz that means it'll be quicker that they do another tour,since i missed them a month ago  And it'll probably sound more like this one since they're so close together |

I hope they do what BRMC did, 2 rocking albums then howl which was acoustic then baby 81 which is arguably their best record. Howl worked for BRMC but for KoL i dont think OBTN really worked, except for 2 or 3 standout tracks (closer, cold desert, i want you) the album is very average. Hopefully they find the ASH sound again

has anyone said that they hate it? Not necessarily that they hate it, the overall impression just seems to be that it genuinely isn't rated as highly as their others. Just makes me a bit glum that a lot of people seem to want to write it off as a below-par detour...granted it's massively different, but that isn't always a bad thing. |

I'm actually feeling chest pains right now. Yes I do. A rap-funk-rock song (think Red Hot Chilli Peppers even). I have an open mind. I don't pigeon hold myself down and only listen to one generic genre of music. When things are done right, it's awesome. So yeah, there are no rules saying they can't do a rap song. I think they should just to see people go all Exorcism and start turning their heads all around. And them doing ASH pt 2 is like taking two steps backwards. It's already been done, and if they did it, it would really be ASH pt 2 and nothing else. Why do a shitty sequel to an awesome thing, when you can be original and maybe make something BETTER than what you already did? I'd be disappointed if they reverted back to that. I like OBTN. I didn't have a problem with it personally, so for all you lovers of OBTN, you're not alone. I just want to seem them challenge themselves and do something they haven't done instead of doing what they've already done, and what we know they can do. They finally have some of the world listening, now it's time to really give them a reason to stay around. If people want ASH, then go buy it and listen to it on repeat. That sounded like a mini-rant. I think they should just have an intro called WASSUP like all the rap artists do, they can all shout WASSUPP really loud for like 2 minutes then go in to a kick ass rock number! LOL I defo do not want a YAYM no.2 or a ASH no.2 or a BOTT no.2 or an OBTN no.2 I just want a fresh original album that we know the kings can come up with if they just take their time and dont start thinking that to be successfull they need to churn out another OBTN, i.e dont get carried away by the success. Ill be happy if they have most of the album rocking that will be fine by me! |
