Well, I was going to wait until the album came out, but thanks to some nut uploading the entire album on youtube, I couldn't resist!
1. I think it's a great album for Caleb's vocals
2. I'm not a fan of the majority of the melodies
3. Where's the southern twang?
4. A few very solid songs, a few songs that I think just plain aren't good. I couldn't even finish fricken Revelry. That song is such crap.
5. It's okay to make some upbeat happy songs! Just because you want the world to think that you've matured as a band doesn't mean you can't still have some fricken fun.
6. It will most likely grow on me.

Dude Revelry? You serious? Its gorgeous! Its up there with MILK! HAHAHAHAHA No. I hated it. My favs are Manhattan, Use Somebody (yeah yeah, it's grown on me like a rash!), Sex on Fire, I Want You, and Closer. I also don't understand the appeal of Cold Desert.

Yeah Use Somebody ,I want you,Manhattan and Closer are like the ones that have an instant effect! If you know what I mean. They have the strongest melodies and more memorable lines so they were my instant favorites too but then the other songs styarted to grow on me more and more and now I love them. Sometimes it takes repeated listenings.
Notion is awesome!Loved that one straight away!

I think that you can say what you want about the record, that it's rushed or they were desperate so they put 17 on there, but at the end of the day they said this is how they always wanted to sound, and Caleb told RS that this is the first time he is proud of every single song, so your argument that they could've sounded different doesn't really hold up, cos this is how they wanted to sound.
I think the album's great anyways..

I think the album's great anyways.. I understand that point, but at the same time if they are making an album just to satisfy themselves, then they shouldn't say things like "I don't know why we haven't had an album that is a huge hit. All we want is one album that's a huge hit" Or "We thought we'd get more American fans with this one, but I guess not."

Ziggys oppinion is perfectly fine.Like someone else said to each their own y'know. You dont have to love evry single song to be a true fan. Personally I love OBTN but thats just my own opinion. Sometimes bands release songs that sound out of the ordinary for them and fans get scared that theyre gonna lose the quality that mede them so wonderful in the first place. Kings of leon are just changing with the times.Nobody wants to hear the same sounding songs being turned out over and over and its fun to hear KOL explore different genres. This is just one slbum and theres more to come in the future and I have no doubt that they probably sound different again when the next one comes along but theyll never completely abandon theyre Southern roots. They could go tottaly Banjo on their next record....who knows...

They could go tottaly Banjo on their next record....who knows... I want some banjo on the next album for sure! Well at first I was thinking that I didn't want KOL to change, and that I wanted them to preserve that sound from the first two albums. But now I've realized that it's not the change I'm concerned with. Change with a band can be an ok thing if you LIKE the change. Thing is, I genuinely don't like half of the songs on OBTN. Like, even if they weren't by KOL and I heard them out of context, I wouldn't like them. It's not my taste, and my only positives are Caleb's voice and Jared's bass lines. That's my biggest disappointment. And I don't like too many modern bands (just a handful) so when one of them puts out an album I don't really care for, it's a blow. BUT, I can always get excited for the 5th album (though something tells me I'm going to be waiting quite awhile for it). And I can be happy that The Raconteurs put out an amazing album earlier this year to keep me satisfied... and The Killers and The White Stripes have new stuff to offer soon.

Anal Sex! Thats what this album is its Anal Sex! Here me out people. Most men on here at one point or another have tried to have Back Door Fun with their partner. (Morer likely if ur gay, Not being homophopic its jut obvious) You tell your partner it might hurt alittle to being with, but you'll be gentle and with time she'll being to enjoy. Even though its gonna hurt the person you love you want it so so so bad that you persist with it and finally she gives in and guess what? She begins to love it and now your offical a "Kackpipe Cosmanaut" In the begining hearing the album hurt me so much. But its a grower and now i'm into. all i need to do now is ask my wife how her bum is feel today

That has to be the wierdest review of an album quite possibly ever?
I'm so looking forward to it, i got a bit worried when about 100000 people logged on and decided to slate it. But Use Somebody and Revelry... absolutely beautiful. I'm so excited!
