Spaghetti western – you know…the ones like Clint Eastwood was in!! I can just imagine a gun fight kicking off to True Love Way…in some mad way LOL I actually can't stand Clint Eastwood and those old westerns, but as usual Matt could do something I dont like and make me like it!

Dear Matt. I really enjoyed the musicradar interview - lets have more of that kind of thing. Ignore interviewers who ask daft or boring questions, interrupt the others, and go into freeflow guitar talk - you know it makes sense

Oh my gosh I read the beginning of this thread and how can people call themselves real fans if they think KOL doesn't need Matt I'm shocked. Matt's guitarwork is the reason (alright, one of the reasons, but most important one) I fell in love with kol in the first place. Count me in! I love the solo in true love way so much it should have its own thread

Camero - not really one of my favourites, is absolutely ruled by Matt. He makes that song incredible.
Also beneath the surface is pretty amazing. His solo's sound like queen.
Yes - I definitely have a new found appreciation for matt!

Soft. it's brilliant, even I have to admit it (soft is not my favourite song in the whole entire world, tho i realise the balls have dropped and i was wrong, many, so so)
So is the Bucket.
haha love from the 'haha' kid in the simpsons
(anyone who remembers me growling at soft for having no balls .. ya knw. ^ )

Matt was on fire in San Fran (apart from the sound issues during Knocked Up), I think his talents on the triangle need to be recognised too tho.....who knew playing the triangle could be so damn sexy

After reading the Mojo article and about how Matt loves playing Crawl and Black Thumbnail I thought I should come in here and give him some lovin! I absolutely adore Matt's playing and how he's evolved as a player. I find it really hard to pick what is my favourite aspect of the band. I think it's the bass but what I love about KOL is that they're all so good at what they do. It makes me so happy to hear Matt nailing those solos, I'm so excited to hear the next album. I hope he has more songs to rock on and I wanna hear his slide guitar

^ yeah, I hope they let the boy loose on the next album! I was thinking earlier that the only reason I rate the bass and drums above Matt's guitar is that they don't let him play enough. Or he's just not had the confidence to fight for it more. or something.
Cold Desert. Matt's playing is beautiful.

I'm not a musical person (well, an appreciator, not a do-er) so I got lost in some of the technical stuff, but it made me feel intelligent listening to it... I was gonna write my favourite Matt guitar part, but it basically amounted to every single song. Especially McFearless, especially live. I love how he doesn't really move around that much on stage when he's playing the most complicated bits, whereas Caleb tends to make more of a show out of the more repetitive (sounding) parts ((don't get me wrong, I love that too!)). Its wierdly backwards, but suits very well. Its funny how even when given a blatant solo (eg Crawl, Arizona), he just makes it seem very natural, not like 'insert solo here'. Which I've just realised is what people were saying earlier. Oops. Edit: quarter of a thousand posts -heck yes! A very worthy one too
