Will this band ever be really bigtime?

this band is great, why dont they get airplay? i like the killers and they are always on the radio... is it that they are looking for that "pop" sound in rock and roll now-a-days. KOL seems to be as pure as you can get with new bands ... is it that they need a bigtime single? explain! i would love to hear them on the radio on a major rock station, not because i want them to be sell outs or whatever some people might translate it to, but because this band is awesome and deserves it.

why should i know this?

its not that i want them to be a huge band, but i dont remember a band this talented getting so little attention. I'm a huge stones fan, and who wants to pay that much to see them and everything else you have to do. For me, i rather see KOL in smaller venues where you can get up close and personal with the band much easier.

have you listened to american pop radio recently? it sucks cock. if your songs sound somewhat unique and actually take some attention it wont get on the radio. american radio is for 16 year old sluts that like shitty black people that have no musical talent whatsoever. watch me oooo crank dat soulja boi

hey i totally agree, my friends are sick of me complaining about why KOL are never on the radio. it pisses me off. karma for sharing the same complaint !!

LOL at mike. its half true. although i dont really think people who listen to mainstream radio are "sluts".. or necessarily "black people".. but just goes to show, even when kjam is making a valid point, he has to go throw something offensive/generalised into the mix.

lets face it people - mainstream radio is (mostly) listened to by people who dont listen to different music. they listen to the same artists (Who i enjoy listening to ocassionally,,,, like when im dancing at a party): timbaland, mariah carey..and and farking Rihanna!!

the thing i notice about these people who only listen to mainstream stuff is that they dont buy actual albums.. they just download individual songs. im not saying they dont love the music they listen to, but they dont understand how an album is a body of work.. a story kind of.
hence the reason they could never listen to a KOL album - only songs which are radio friendly. if i was one of these people, i reckon i wouldnt be able to listen to arizona on the radio.. it wouldnt make sense without the 10 or so songs before it.,, im not saying this is applicable to ALL people who only listen to mainstream shite, just most of em.. they dont buy albums!

i was because of the times in the kitchen as work yesteday, and knocked up was on and my friend came in who works their and was like "what is this i dont like it" i was like kings of leon are you ratarded? and she goes "ugh i hate this type of music he's just whining"
i had to restrain myself, but i agree with g-love if she'd listened to the whole album i think she'd appreciate it a lot more

my friend, who is a drummer and listens to decent music, heard slow night, so long, and automatically branded kol as "country music".. im not dissing country music, but she obviously wasnt able to grasp the uniqueness of it all.
i have this friend, who mainly listens to metallica and ballsy music, who thinks caleb sings like a retard.. i guess different people appreciate different things

I knoww you're talking about America, but they are definatley getting bigger over here, Because Of The Times is number 37 in the album charts and I've heard Fans played on the radio twice in the last two days.

i dont think so, no. i dont know. i mean, i get pissed off when people only like em coz theyre goodlooking . i understand some chicks see them first, then listen to em, and thats cool. but i hate the ones that only like bands coz they (the "fan") are so poser-ish.

but i dont know. i mean, it could be a good thing. thinking about it, u can see that theyve progressed without being on mainstream radio. so, if they were on mainstream radio, maybe that could kill their music, in terms of what they create? i dont know
