First time poster, long time kings fan...the new album just gets better and sits along side anything the boys have done....commercial...not....please tell me what song will be a mainstream seller..this album is much deeper, richer than other kings albums...more depth and layers to music....favourite band of all time since i picked up on them in 2002..and will now always be one of the best, three albums...three massive albums, each compliment each other. I think i've converted everyone i know to the kings and will continue to do so!!!

ive gotta say im surprosed at what some people have posted on here.in my opinion this album is the best thing the band have produced so far ,and in agreeing with NME's review to an extent, i think the band have gone in exactly the right direction with BOTT. yes, we all love the chokey sound of calebs vocals from the first two albums and they're underated works of art in there own right, but you cant dismiss that tracks like on call, mcfearless, my party, ragoo are perfectly performed and have what the band need to move on to the next level. if nothing more, then Kings of Leon are setting the standard for todays rock bands, and im sure we'll here rip-offs of there style, for years to come!

So I was trying to wait till it came out to listen to the whole thing, but I finally gave in and listened to the whole album. It's really different sounding, but I actually kind of like how their albums seem to have their own sound to them and they try something new each time. The first half of the cd seems way better than the 2nd in my opinion. BOTT isn't my favorite KOL album, but I do like it, and it'll probably grow on me more as time goes on.

we should change the name of this forum to "new album is totally wicked." yeah because it is. its really amazing and it sucks when dorks listn to it once and make a post sayin its crap. give it a chance and jam it a few times. then the real sweetness of the songs really come out and you can hear little bits of music that are similar to the previous records.

well well well
quite a controversial thread you have created here....
when i first heard i was quite disappointed too, especially when i heard the intro to on call i thought this is NOT kol...
i think it is a quality album.....just takes a few listens....ill agree with you that the effects are a bit of a surprise, but kol wanted a new direction....i think they sed themselves everyone expected another 2 minute-song album etc etc.......
i still think there are a couple of songs that arent as good as the last albums...i didnt like charmer at first but i think once again, it grows on you
lest we forget arizona, fans, ragoo, on call and black thumbnail are genius!

I haven't downloaded the new album and god help me i don't intend to either hehe. I like the element of surprise. I've heard 3 songs...On Call, Black Thumbnail & Charmer. I love Black Thumbnail, but i think Charmer is going to be a grower, although i have only listened to it once I will not listen to any more & my will power is still going strong Ha! It was worth the wait!! Loving it, especially Camaro and True Love Way

Hello KOL fans, I downloaded album last night and have listened to it several times. I think it rocks and do not understand the fuss about "camaro". I bought my tickets for first 2 shows of tour and can hardly wait. KOL is best young band in rock and are helping revitalize a stagnant time in music. And finally enjoy the music thats what its there for : )

I can't believe that Charmer is getting bashed (I mean I can understand Camaro) but Charmer is balls to the wall! First of all the guitar riff sounds like the Munster's theme song on acid, it's great, and the vocals rip the song to shreads and then smack you in the face with it. It will leave you sayin' WOW!..thank you sir my I have another!

I was the same, however now I am really really into the sound of this album. Just a little message to all the people hating the new album and acting like idiots. If you enjoyed the first 2 albums, then great, go listen to them. Why bitch in here? Go find some music you like and listen to it. Music is about finding what you like and enjoying it, not finding what you hate and bitching about it.

I think quite the opposite, I fell in love with their new sound as soon as I heard the pumping bass line from 'On Call'. And once I heard the rest of the album, it only got better, it's so beautiful at parts I want to cry (okay, not really, but it gets the point across). I will agree that it is a different sound from their other albums, but I feel that they have most definitely gone in the right direction. In my book it is most assuredly one of the best rock albums of the past few years, from the best band since the turn of the millennium.

i must say i'm undecided on how i feel about it. didn't download and it was released today in the states. it's definetely different. maybe it the mood i'm in right now. but mostly i think i was going to get old school kings. the kings that were going to make me jump out of my seat and dance till i dropped. it's more subdued in a way. grown up in a sense. just my humble opinion. but i can tell just about everyone is digging it. i think it will grow on me for sure. maybe after i get to see the songs live in may. fingers crossed.

yeah, so I was pretty bummed when I heard a few of the tunes on the myspace preview thing, thought "eh, that's not the kings I know and love...sounds all processed and weird", but regardless, me and my buddy picked 2 copies up this morning like the good fans we are. Wow. I listened to the whole thing twice and it's already in my blood. It's different alright, but probably about as different as ASH was to the first one...well ok, maybe a little bit more different. Still thoroughly badass though. Might take a little longer to fully digest, but that just shows there's that much more to bite into on this one. So if your first impression is like mine, give it a few listens and it really comes alive.

After six or eight weeks - it just gets better. Now we have the lyrics - they're cool too

after finishing the album through i have to say, it is far from disappointing. i mean it doesn't give you that 'BANG' first impression but it more than grows on you.
i haven't been able to stop listening to it.

Ive been overseas and after listening to the album many times and some serious thought...... THIS ALBUM STILL SUCKS. I cant even listen to it and it is still so bad that it makes it hard to listen to the other albums.
COMPLETE GARBAGE. KOL have lost their edge and im just waiting for the 4th album now because this record is forgettable. And wtf is up with the artwork, and that stupid video. ufghhgghhghg
