is this the picture Shirli? hmmph, i'm bothered there's alot of Beatle hate going on in these threads and this talk about the Rolling Stones being better than the Beatles?! Nonsense! the Beatles demolish the Stones in every sense of the word!

I don't get it too... Few of my friends don't like The Beatles as well, they say they are overrated.

Hahaha yeah look at Paul! I'm guessing the Beatle-hating is going on in that "Greatest Rock Band" thread? I've never been in it. Let's not rise to it... let's just enjoy our haven in here I think we should all post our fave pics of Beatles. Check out sexy young Georgie! Look at that quiff... he's adorable. xxx

Look at John hiding in the corner Or should I say in Lennon-language, "kakking in the korber" Has anyone read either of John's books, "In His Own Write" and "A Spaniard In The Works"? I've got them both and they are FANTASTIC. I can honestly tell you that I threw up from laughing so hard xxx

OMG I love that other pic of them on the beach... how skinny is George?!? I got the John books of Amazon or Ebay, whichever was cheaper. They're basically random poetry and short stories written by John, and funny drawings that go with them. The only thing is, John makes everything humorous by changing words around, purposely spelling them wrong or putting a different word in one's place, so you know what he meant to say but instead it ends up meaning something completely different! Half of it doesn't make sense, but it's so funny I couldn't stop laughing all the way through. He throws rude stuff in there to catch you off guard too... I know! I'll type out one of his poems... *searches for an especially funny one* xxx

I just guessed that might be the thread people would pit bands against each other in that way. It doesn't matter anyway; it's cool you listen to The Beatles anyway, even if you don't think they're the greatest xxx

I gave them an honourable mention somewhere for being best songwriters with amazing harmonies. I never really think of them as a rock band. Their music doesn't really fit a category like that (not for me anyway).

Their music doesn't really fit a category like that (not for me anyway). I've just seen it. Nice that you stood up for them... I'm not even gonna go there, especially since I started this thread and I'll just seem like a whiny fan-girl who can't take criticism about a band I like. I don't really mind - everyone's entitled to an opinion. It's just hard to take sometimes when there's a band you adore and someone just shoots them down in flames. I'm not even going there *Continues looking in Lennon books* xxx

Okay I've decided to show you all a poem from John's first book, "In His Own Write". It's a more serious one, but I like it. Gather round everyone! *AHEM* "I sat belonely down a tree humbled fat and small. A little lady sing to me I couldn't see at all. I'm looking up and at the sky to find such wondrous voice. Puzzly puzzle, wonder why, I hear but have no choice. 'Speak up, come forth, you ravel me' I potty menthol shout. 'I know you hiddy by this tree' But still she won't come out. Such softly singing lulled me sleep, an hour or two or so I wakeny slow and took a peep and still no lady show. Then suddy on a little twig I thought I see a sight, A tiny little tiny pig, that sing with all its might. 'I thought you were a lady', I giggle - well I may, To my surprise the lady, got up - and flew away." xxx

Hehe yeah, he does a lot more wordplay than that in the rest of the book, sometimes it's hard to understand and I'm English! But it just makes it funnier if anything else. I wanna post one I find really funny but it's one of those things... I find it funny but I don't think the rest of the world does xxx
