That's right folks, it had to be done! Me and Dani (helterskelter) find that we hijack other threads waffling about these four wonderful boys, so we thought we'd make a stomping ground for Beatle People! Please use this thread to talk about the band, the boys as individuals, and anything Beatle related. I'll kick start this party... THE BEATLES ARE GEAR!!! Next! xxx

I found the story... For anyone else who reads this, basically I went on a huge thing about why The Beatles are so important to me, and it's a true story, so here it is. *Tries to tell story as short as possible* Basically my dad was a teen when Beatlemania hit, and he idolised them; they inspired him to become a musician. He taught himself guitar, quit his job and ran off to France with the first band that picked him up. He was even living on the streets once because his music wasn't paying the bills, but then he heard "Golden Slumbers" and it made him pick himself up and go home to his mum. His entire life has been dedicated to The Beatles; he chased them all over the place, craving the fame and talent they had. Needless to say, he failed, but he never EVER stopped trying. In fact he was so blinkered by his dream that he was creating a huge rift in his marriage... One day my mum reached breaking point and asked him to choose which he would rather do; get a regular job and be a proper father to me, or carry on chasing his dream... You can guess what he chose. They divorced when I was four and I spent my entire childhood recieving postcards from a man I barely knew. You could almost say The Beatles took my dad away from me. But despite all this, there is a glorious silver lining here... and that's the fact that everything my dad taught himself, he passed onto me. He spent his adolescence learning how to understand music, and through genes, he's made me able to do it as an instinct. Since I was small, I've always been able to sing, and taking naturally to playing piano and guitar, we also discovered I have perfect pitch. I don't want to sound big-headed (I'm sure I do) but it's like destiny, if you know what I mean? Dad failed, so he passed his talents onto me, and now I have to achieve the dream for both of us. Music is the one driving force and ultimate comfort in my life; it brings me greater joy than anything, and I'm determined to make it in music, both for my own happiness and for my dad's! I should probably hate music for tearing my family apart, but I couldn't possibly live without it. All in all, The Beatles made my dad a musician, and in turn he made me a musician, and I wouldn't give that up for all the world, not even if it meant my dad had never left. So in reality, I have The Beatles to thank; if they'd never been around, I wouldn't be happy; I'd just be a stupid kid wondering what I'm supposed to do when I grow up. I love them so much, and their music is so awesome to me that it takes place of my father. As long as I have them, I'll be fine! WELL THAT WASN'T A SHORT STORY AT ALL! xxx

I've got 1600 songs on my computer, none by the Beatles. They just aren't my thing. They obviously were quite popular. There's just so many other groups I'd rather listen to.

Well done Razz! & helterskelter for making this thread!! I absolutely LOVE The Beatles. They are by far my most favorite band...EVER! My Dad is a huge fan...and because of him I am too. He even named me after their song "Michelle". Nothing makes me happier than when people pick up on that and sing my name "Michelle ma belle..". haha. Sorry, it's late and I'm rambling, but wanted to post in this awesome thread!
So girls...who are y'alls favorite(s)?

Two of my fave Beatles songs already mentioned: Happiness is a Warm Gun and Golden Slumbers. Adore them both. Throw in "I'll Follow The Sun" on top of the whole White and Abbey Road albums... and there's my favourites.
Lens Creep, there's some irony in you not being a Beatles fan but your signature pic bears a passing similarity to a certain album cover!

Favorite song at this very moment...it's a tie between "Blackbird" & "She Came In Throught the Bathroom Window"...because those were the two songs I just finished listening too. :-P Love love love those two Among my faves would be A day in the Life, While my Guitar gently Weeps, Helter Skelter, Twist and Shout, Eleanor Rigby and Something in the Way she Moves. But to be honest theres just too many to choose from, Lennon/McCartney are the ultimate lyricists in my opinion, and i dont really trust anyone who says they dont like the Beatles...i mean whats not to like!! Plus they have influenced pretty much every band since. Razz fantastic and heartbreaking story!! Your Dad should be very proud!! Karma

On my way to Abbey Road when I visited London in March!
Abbey Road Studios!
They let people draw on the walls outside of Abbey Road studio. Sadly I didn’t have a pen with me or I would have added my name to the wall! Ha. Anyways, I thought the “Yellow Submarine” stuff people drew were awesome!
Me standing outside of Abbey Road Studio’s!!
And lastly, me and my friend Rachael walking across Abbey Road.
*sign* I got all teary eyed when I went ^ there. It was my first time in London and that made it complete.
Oh and here is a link to my facebook page where I got to see Ringo Starr himself in concert back in July of last year!!www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=31902&id=501446924&l=636a04319d
