Also the death threat thing was because of a few people on Twitter who made some pointed gun thing. Like when you do stuff with ''-----'' and make a picture. Those are the death threats. Not cool to do, but also not really some big ''death threat.'' Many fans believe in STL that they just wanted to leave because of the heat, and the pigeon excuse gave them a reason to. If it was heat, say it's heat. We'd understand then. I wouldn't want them needing IV's again, dehydrated, etc.

^ Sorry, I should of added in my post that it still doesnt excuse the way it was handled. I'm also so sorry you've had to experience this twice. I just felt the need to point out that pigeons ARE disgusting creatures. I hate the bloody things. (even more so now!) No I agree and completely understand what you're saying. It's just traveling expenses, etc aren't fun when it wasn't worth it, even with a refund. I can accept the pigeon thing (although they could've stopped and tried to sort it out). It's just the whole leaving without a word that has fans gutted. Feels like they don't even respect their fans enough to tell them what's up. They literally ran off the stage like little boys. As I said, I think it was the heat... but they didn't want to admit that was the main reason. I wish they would. It is very hot, totally understand.

The more I read the more I agree with everyone who is upset at the band. At first I wanted to believe they had good reason and maybe we just didn't know all the facts, but according to the press statement it WAS all about the birds? I can think of a few solutions off the top of my head right now. How about someone quick find a few tarps and create a makeshift canopy above the band. Surely with all their expertise they could have figured out a way to do that. Or call animal control to come get them out of there! I'm sure the crowd would have had an interesting time watching that knowing at least the show would still go on.
And if it was absolutely impossible to fix the problem, they could have done an impromtu acoustic set somewhere else in the city or even in the parking lot, or invite all the fans to drink with them somewhere, shit!
Jared said the other bands looked bad but why didn't anyone else notice this? We've had enough fan accounts and so far nobody (that I know of) has said it was out of control. I'm gonna have to side with the fans on this one.

I feel like they've thrown a few tantrums here & there, yet they never actually apologize personally. Like on a stage or anything. Nathan just goes on & Tweets like everythings cool and lets some publiscist handle it. I guess sometimes you just miss the days you saw them in some small bar and they could care less about anything bad happening... They just played and loved it.

And most artists would just take 10-15min & clean up or something, breathe. Crowd would totally understand. Not just walk off stage, without an explanation & later have time to tweet and say ''unsanitary.'' Please, I've seen them play in bars more unsanitary. Agreed. It's a load of fucking bollocks. I was at an MCR gig and Gerard got smacked in the face with a bottle of piss, the guy was soaked through, it was dripping off his face and everything. Did they all walk off and cancel the gig? Like hell did they. He wiped his face off and told the wanker who had tossed it to fuck off and die and carried on playing. Man up, boys. Or fuck off.

I've been to shows where bottles, glow sticks, etc were thrown directly at bands. They still played or at the very least, took a moment to get it together & then played again. I did enjoy Nathan's tweet an hour ago about a ''party tonight.'' Glad you care so much about your fans. Glad PR handled it for you...

Arrgh man, im really torn on this one. I do feel so bad for you guys that were there, I know how much of a build up there is, all the days of planning the trip and getting so excited. I honestly cant imagine how gutted I'd feel if I got let down like that. You should totally be offered more in the way of compensation than just a ticket price refund, that sucks. Also you're right about how much the fans put up with waiting around in the heat, being drenched by bottles of nasty boy pee etc. From what you've all said it doesn't sound like the birdies were a big deal at all and not giving you all a proper explanation is just weak. *Sigh* I just don't want to believe that my favourite band are behaving like a bunch of arrogant tossers. Yeah we all know that they're getting a little cocky sometimes lately but it was still always about the fans wasn't it? Dear Kings Please restore our faith in you somehow...

I think everyone needs to forget the whole myth of them being "good ol' boys from TN". They arent. They havent been for a LONG time.
After the release of OBTN, they've said repeatedly, "for every old fan we've lost, we've gained 5 new ones". So clearly, at this point, they feel invincible and that they can pull crazy stunts and that they will be forgiven. And if they are not forgiven, then there will always be new fans to take the place of those who abandoned them.
Reading was probably the first time they were shown that they were not all that, and we all know how it ended. To a lot of UK fans, they are old news, and it's a little bit more difficult to be an ass there. Here in the US, however, they are still new, and they feel that bad behavior will be forgiven. It's the fans who make or break their idols. So while we allow them to behave however they want to, and still buy their records, go to their concerts, etc. they have carte blanche to be divas.
It is what it is. When you start playing arenas, you just dont care as much.

I remember seeing them in Memphis in a regular bar. The bar was old & not very nice! But they played it and loved it. Since SOF/Use Somebody made them bigger in the US, people will read the story & feel for them. But their actual fans, those who follow them, they'll know that's not exactly it at all, you know? Of course they'll be forgive in the US, most don't care haha.

This is probabaly the saddest thing that has happened this month I don't even know who I am angry with. On the one hand, it's not a bomb, it's a pigeon poop and there's nothing to be afraid of, but on the other hand pigeons spread diseases, so it could be dangerous... I guess I agree with those who say that Jared should have wiped it off and carried on playing. What they did was very unfair and I don't think it's only about the money people had spent but also about their hopes to see the band, maybe for the first time, playing for a couple of hours. Their dreams were shattered I love the Kings very much, but behaviour like that, makes me have doubts. It's a pity that I didn't know them when they were lovely boyd from TN. I'm not a fan of divas. As for people who throw things at musicians, I don't understand why they go to concerts. People, don't hate pigeons, they are quite lovely when they aren't pooping in Followill mouths It's not their fault that they are infection carriers, it's evolution!

agreed I think that the guys obviously handled it badly, maybe they were in a bad mood because of the heat and the poo just took it to the next level, though i think they've should just suck it up, the fans go thru a lot to go to their shows and they should do the same, and also don't hate the pigeon he obviously doesn't know he's toxic and was just hangin' out for a good show besides everybody shits

Umbrellas and Hoodies guys, umbrellas and hoodies. That's all they needed. Or maybe a gazebo, if you're warned before hand do something about it. Maybe a little less bass-facing and it wouldn't have gone near Jared's mouth. Someone needs to call in the Pigeon Detectives. (See what I did there)

The fans get kicked to shit, bruised and battered, squashed, pass out from heat exhaustion and dehydration, have to put up with the shitty stink of the people crammed up behind and in front of them - shit, I could go on, but y'all get the idea. I'm still pissed off about the way this was handled. Fucking divas.

I;ve learnt to accept they're gonna feel like they can pull shit like this off, and I'm not angry at them about it for some reason. But I forgot about this quote and it really angers me. Because yes, you may have gained more fans. But realistically how many of the percentage of that are actually fans who will follow you to as many gigs as they can literally afford? And actually know you've existed before 2008? And actually give a shit about things other than you playing your two most popular songs?!?!

I WAS one of those fans, I loved traveling to see them live but since OBTN I won't travel or even make that much effort. I've been a fan since YYMH but their behavior and attitude toward the fans is a joke and unless they pull their finger's out a lot more people will feel the same. I will be seeing them at V this summer, we will see what happens... As for the s**t, suck it up boy's it's happened to me more time than I care to remember.
