Maybe there was a lot of it and it made the stage slippery? Who knows, but I'm sure the band will release a statement about it or something official to explain better.

I think Nathan was pretty clear about it. If there was more to explain, he would've done so. "it was unsanitary" was his explanation and I'm pretty sure if the stage was slippery (or there was another obvious issue) that would've been known, either by way of Carrie and fans who were there or by nathan himself.

I was at this show. Actually, just got home & quite sad. We were right up front, in fact. And let me tell you, Jared was acting like an absolute drama queen. It was NOT a big deal. Granted, the venue isn't lovely but it isn't horrible. And believe me when I say, it wasn't bad. I've seen KOL play ages ago in far worse, ''unsafe'' venues. Also I am getting really, really sick of their tantrums. I went to Reading and they did the same thing over something else. Still a fan & going to support them, but I'm losing hope lately. However, I am new to the site/often visit the site and very good! I do have some photos of the little time they actually were on stage I'll defintely try & post, if I can figure it out of course!

I take your word for this in saying Jared was being a drama queen! that doesn't surprise me, actually. I guess they can afford to cancel their shows now.. this is, in my opinion, is not worth cancelling a show over. but there's nothing we can do now!

Sorry, as much as i love KOL, gotta be on the fans side this time, because I am one. When you commit to being a performer, you stick, and you do it, snow, rain or shine. Or bird shit. If someone hurled human crap at them, ok, i would understand. But instead of walking off, their management should've gone to the venue people, BEFORE KOL came on, as this was a problem during the Stills performance already, and dealt with it. These are birds. I am sure SOMETHING could've been done. They are not nearly as big as they think they are to pull shit like that! And i feel really bad for my friends who made long trips for this concert. Couldn't have said this one better. They could have easily taken a break, cleaned Jared up and went about their business. Cancelling it was very un-professional to me, sorry. I love the boys, but it's really becoming a Diva act. Agree with the both of you! I am from Memphis & traveled about 6 hours for this show. Last year a group of us went to Reading festival. They also were kind of dramatic there, too. I feel like they are a lot bigger than they think they are, as you said. I don't think any other band would do this. If they weren't as big, they would've stuck it out. So what, now that you play large venues you won't? Twice they've let me down, yet I'll still support them. Just quite upset. In fact, my friend Lindsay was crying about it. Over the tantrums. I'll still attempt to love KOL though.

I guess I would also cry if one of my favourite bands cancelled their show for almost no reason Honeslty, we are in the hotel discussing this lovely night... and I think we are just almost as upset in the way KOL handled it. None of them said ANYTHING really. Just walked off stage. And then we get a tweet about it? Cool. Not very professional. So we travel 6 hours from Memphis and this happens. Fly all the way to Reading and other dramatics happened.

I was at this show with my best friend. It is absolute BS that the show was cancelled. Also, you don't have enough respect for your fans to at least tell them what the "safety issue" was? I never realized that KOL were such divas! The whole getting pooped on is riduculous. Be a man Jared, and carry on for your FANS- the ones who give you your paycheck! Your lack of appreciation for your fans was very evident tonight. We will no longer support your band, and that is sad because we feel you have some of the best music out there today. But, if you don't care enough about us, then maybe it's time for you to get knocked down a notch. Not only did people pay their hard earned money on tickets, gas, hotels, etc. on you guys, but people were so pissed they were knocking over trash cans in the parking lot, etc. Are you guys gonna go back and clean up the venue? No, I bet the minimum wage workers who were dealing with YOUR pissed off fans have to clean up the mess caused by YOUR ACTIONS! And seriously Jared, BE A MAN! Do you realize that Cyndi Lauper was performing at an outdoor venue a while ago, and as she was singing a bird pooped in her mouth?! You can look it up and see video of it online. Did she leave the stage and give her fans a BS excuse about cancelling the show? NO, she kept singing!! You guys aren't the Rolling Stones, get over yourselves.

As I said we were right up front & not a huge deal. Jared was a huge drama queen tonight. I am disgusted how they just WALKED OFF but yet, Nathan can tweet about it? Give me a break. Oh and for all others that were there tonight. Live Nation just released a statement. You can get your refund starting Monday, July 26. And of course they'd give a refund, have no choice.

That's the problem--too big for their breeches. Particularly Jared, it seems. Perhaps he thinks that royalties will be coming to him for the rest of his life and he doesnt really need to try so hard anymore.
Such a shame. The tour started so well at Bonnaroo! and then Hyde Park. But only 2-3 weeks into it, crap like this happens.
Will be interesting to see how they'll spin it and who'll be blamed!

They'll definitely make up some excuse, try and tell some funny story, etc. But it's like others said, yes we get a refund, but remember, what about gas, hotel, etc? So no, it doesn't make it ok. Lately Jared bothers me. Even in red carpet photos he's all Zoolander face/I am the center of attention. I think I am just so upset the way they handled it. Not even an apology on stage to the fans. I hope for those going tomorrow it turns out to be a great show, though! Don't want it to happen again (although this wasn't the first time and I don't think it will be the last).

Yeah, i feel for all the people who've traveled from everywhere. Having done that myself a bunch of times, i cant imagine how i'd feel if that happened at one of my concerts. Last year they really kind of screwed up the Birmingham concert, especially towards the end, and i remember how pissed we were at them then. But at least they gave an unimaginitive and flaccid 1.5 hrs. Here, they just walked off the stage after 3 songs.
It upsets me because my good friends were at that concert, and i know how excited they were about it. And i know how far they came from--Maryland and Nashville. That's gas money, hotel, plane, food.
I stand up for KOL all the time, but this just pissed me off.

I guess they have caught star sickness. This reminds me of Axl Rose, who refused to sing after James Hetfield was taken to hospital because of an accident. He claimed that his throat hurts while sitting backstage, smoking and drinking whiskey. It's a spoiled child's behaviour.

Hahah, Karolina, that's exactly what i thought of--GnR and Axl. Well, GnR ended rather badly, with their diva behavior.

I know a lot of the UK fans are going to wake up and read all of this with questions. I know a lot of the fans always stick up for KOL. But come on, this has happened TOO MANY times on every tour. Now I will always support them, but we are allowed to dislike some of the stuff they do. I think it's wrong to say ''If you're a fan you'll support whatever they do.'' That's not what a fan is. A fan should be able to call them out on stupid sh*t, you know? I'm sorry if some agree. Just really sad to see even my best friend cry over it, as she loves the boys a lot & she saved up for the hotel, gas portion, food, drinks, and ticket (yes, even if we do get a refund, still a loss). Lost some respect when they just went off stage, yet Nathan could tweet later on.
YouTube ''Kings of Leon St Louis'' and go to about the 50s mark. It is what happened from tonight. See how they just went off? Oh boys, I love you... but it's hard sometimes.
