thanks erin... i think i remember reading they are going for a less poppy album which would be fantastic... and i heard on the radio the other day that jared was talking about how he liked "use somebody" at first but now he hates it after hearing it 90 thousand times or something.... i liked the last album but i cant even listen to tracks 3 or 4 anymore because of the radio... it is what it is. theres still manhattan, i want you, closer ect.... and crawl is on the radio now but nothing like what SOF was or use somebody. Aha and because of the times are easily top 2 imo though...

Yea, they've been saying 'no singles' by which I guess they mean 'no huge chart hits' like SOF & US. And Caleb's really happy talking about 'the prettiest country song', so that's something I can't wait to hear.

haha well how can they not make something a single... isn't that up to the record label and radio?

Well yea, it's mostly the label's choice which songs become singles, but the new album could be such a 'commercial suicide' that there won't be any radio friendly songs (i.e. usually the singles) on it at all.

i think maybe they mean there will be singles..how can their be none!! i just think what they will realease as singles will be less pop (like someone else said). Something they think sound less like pop songs

I'd seen autumn touted as a release...? Think it was spring originally but then they said about taking 6 months off... depends whether they want to do what they did with OBTN and preview it at festies in the summer, or release it beforehand... interesting. I for one can't wait...and hope Lucifer makes an appearance in some form or other.

Thanks for that Erin, hadnt read that Verrrry Interesting reading. I just love when Caleb called the old days "a beautiful thing" Great title (if thats what they stick with) It has a real down home on the porch country vibe about it..very evocative! And i cant wait to hear this country song..in fact i cant wait to hear the whole album

It's like a less glamorous version of Only By The Night - which I guess is exactly what I want from it And I can't wait for Caleb's "country song", he's gone on about it enough, it better be damn good Annoyingly, I keep forgetting (coz I'm intelligent like that) that the seasons are back to front here/there. Extra 6 months breaks my heart whenever I remember... I know they need their break and I totally support that. But I want a CD! I want a tour! I want proper news! Not bloody fashion and golf! I want reviews! Christ, I even want huge debates about selling out! Daddy I want a golden goose

Just read that apparently KOL got out of their contract with Columbia, and signed some kind of "half" contract with Warner Bros (I believe). The reason they did that, was apparently so they could have more creative control over what gets released and how. Also, they are putting up their own money to finance the albums, so that again, they could decide on what goes on the album, instead of the record company telling them.
Makes me hopeful that there is some interesting material being prepared for the new album, and it might be a lot less commercial than OBTN was.

Imagine KOL being able to put out what they want, without the record company pushing them to do other things. Great!

I know! Not releasing something like SOF as a 1st single! That would be great.
