theres not much point tryin to figure out what the guys think about the success, because theres thoughts prob change from week to week, prob depending on the much drinks theyve had lol
we all know they deserve the success there gettin and we all know the success should have come earlier.
in terms of sex on fire and al that, theyl be happy that they have a new audience, but no doubt in the back of thier minds theyl be thinkin, where the fuck where you guys for the last albums.
and just think, if this album hadnt have made the kings as popular as they are, then there would be people complaining of how there gettin ignored and how there not bein recongised for their work.

Wasn't there an interview or something where Caleb said something about getting a bit sick of SoF even though they still like playing the songs from years ago that they've played 1000 times? Did that make sense? Anyway, I think having a hit single must be exhausting no matter who you are because it's what everyone's going to know you for and you can't get out of playing it. Maybe in a few years they'll be able to play smaller gigs again? Like when all this hype has died down a bit. If they want to that is.

Yeah but I think they know that a lot of the people in the audience at gigs now only know them for that and Use Somebody, which is a shame.

i think they wanted to have a big record in AMERICA!
i know caleb said in one interview [can't remember which one] during their because of the time days that they would love to have a big record in the states, cause that's where they aren't so big, compared to europe and other continents.
i'm glad they finally get the recognition they always deserved but i hope their next record is going to be a lil bit more like BOTT...i always avoid to call OBTN a 'commercial' record, but obviously they DID reach more people with this record.
maybe they realised now that it's not only cool to be playin arena shows. it is bigger but less personal. i prefer smaller venues.

Woah, woah, woah...Caleb has only just turned 27! Less talk of the "taking a few steps back and having family" stuff please, it makes me feel ancient!! In relation to Copenhagen; the boys had been making the Revelry video, doing all the Grammy press, playing the Clive Davis party, then attending the Grammies, then flying to London, then to Copenhagen, then playing a gig....I'm not surprised Caleb was repeating himself about how tired and jetlagged he was! It's a shame for the Copenhagen audience, but it would have amazed me if they'd managed to be on absolute top form that night. I have no doubt that the Kings have wanted this success and have gone after it 100%; that doesn't mean they're not entitled to a good ol' moan every now and then when they've spent 3 out of 5 days on a plane and probably haven't slept more than a few hours a night for weeks.

Well said Jay (is it?)...they must be utterly fagged right now, one of the biggest weeks of their career, and I'd guess they'd have had to be relatively sober for most of it too, what with all the red carpetting and interviews and such...poor buggers.
The just need a few weeks back on the farm, playin horseshoe and building bonfires and catching crawfish and jammin and all will be well.
Please don't start talking about them hanging up their boots, it makes me want to cry to think they won't grow old with us.

I hope I didn't scare/worry anyone with my thoughts haha, I just needed to get it down really. I think I think into it too much. I'm adopting a new approach which is I'm not inside their heads therefore I don't know what they're thinking and there's nothing to worry about cos I could be way off the mark

They just added a 2nd night to their Boston gig, and my first reaction was concern for them.
It's probably because I already have tickets for a Flight of the Concords concert Friday night, then the Kings Sunday night, and I wouldn't want to be at the Agganis Arena 3 nights in a row to make the newly added Saturday show. BUT, this just seems like too much. Their schedule is already jam-packed and their management keeps adding more shows in between "due to overwhelming demand." I agree that they should have just booked Banknorth to begin with.
As far as the SOF thing, I'm not worried about it. I used to take every thing they said seriously, but after getting pissed off a couple of times, I've come to realize that they have absolutely no censor. This is great cause you get the honesty, but you also get a window into every mood swing they go through. I'd be moody too if I hadn't slept in 6 years.

KoL wanted OBTN to be such a success? I mean, obviously they want their albums to sell and stuff, but like, just this album. Compared to the others OBTN is such a huge success. What got me thinking about it was, yesterday at their gig in Copenhagen - before playing SOF - Caleb said: "I think you all know this song... and if you don't, that's a good thing." and then in the chorus when obviously, everyone sang along, I'm sure I saw Jared kind of... smile sarcastically at Caleb. <- and Caleb looked like that. And then, a little later, he said something like "We're kinda jetlagged, haven't slept properly for a while, and we've been playing these huge crowds and arenas for the last couple of months. So it feels good being here, and we'll make this a fucking good night." I guess you could interpret that in several ways, but it sounded pretty much as if he misses playing in small arenas, with more intimate crowds. Oh, and he also said "I'm so fucking tired. I hope you don't mind if I get a little drunk." He even said that twice. Maybe I'm just stupid and worrying too much, but i don't want them to get worn out, you know? Any thoughts? I love the boys but that is exactly what annoys the shit out of me about them. All they did was complain about how they wanted to be bigger and they wanted to sell out stadiums and once it started happening they're getting annoyed with it. What the hell did they expect?
