Does that mean they automatically play T in the Park too?

Oh god. Please somebody tell me this isn't true. Three years in a row???! Come ON! That's ridiculous! Why would MCD do this? Why don't they give them their own huge-capacity summer gig instead? I really, really hope that the Independent got it wrong and they haven't confirmed. Festival-goers are just going to moan about this - nobody wants to see the same headliners two years in a row, that's unprecedented. Does that mean they automatically play T in the Park too? It usually does, yeah.

I heard they're pretty much confirmed for Reading, they better bloody be. 3 years in a row at Oxegen? Interesting. I do agree with Jay though they should have had their own gig!

Yey That's good then Sarah! As long as they play there I'm not too bothered about where else they play It is a bit of an overkill to play somewhere 3 years running though, no?

Yeah.. and wouldn't it be T in The Park 3 years in a row? or 2 in 3 years? I hope they play IOW but I also kinda hope they don't because I will be faced with a dilemma as to whether to go or not, the thought of being at home and they're just a 20 minute boat ride away isn't nice

Yeah IOW would be good, but I'd probably have the same dilemma as you, except its a bit more than 20 mins away from me I think doing ones they never played at last time would be way better, because a lot of the time people tend to stick to one or two festivals, they'll be playing to pretty much the same audience.

Yeah true true. The videos from Reading 07 are actually epic though. We should probably continue this conversation elsewhere

Yeah, if they did T in the Park again this year it would be the third year running again. And although Oxegen gets a fresh influx of drunken school-leavers each year it is essentially the same audience (and it's a totally poxy festival!).
Just checked the Oxegen website and yep, seems to be true. They did a fan poll again this year, and the Kings were chosen as the band most people wanted to headline again. That's not surprising, but it's surprising that the Kings have confirmed.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm really counting on Leeds/Reading, I don't think I'd ever go to Oxygen, even if they were playing.

^^ They wouldn't post it on the official Oxegen website unless it were confirmed.
(and yeah, I'm not going back to Oxegen either!)

I can understand why they go back. They get the best reception at Oxegen & T in the Park, so of course they are going to keep going back to these. I'd have got tickets but just realised I'm out of the country. Oh well. I'll have to watch it on TV again, and swear at the BBC for only giving us 2 songs from the whole set.

ehm I'll probably go on again this year cos I'm finishing my leaving this summer but I'm a bit fed up of oxegen. and I don't understand why a festival would have the same act headline 2 years in a row? and plus the other 2 headliners are meant to be the killers and snow patrol. so yeah not great! hmmmmmmmm I'd say I will go! anybody else going?

I was suppose to be working there this year but not sso certain now... I honestly didn't think they'd play it for a second year running...But they must love us... According to the official website they could've played Slane or Croke park... www.oxegen.ie/2008/node/477

the reason they want to go back i think is because of the crowd at oxegen, the band seemed pretty much in awe of it all, anyone who hasnt listened to it yet, needs to lol after four kicks caleb says "You guys are absolutely amazing, uknow we have played some festivals already, but am, i was really lookin forward to this one, and man you guys are pleasing me well." i think im goin to benicassim to see them, plus oasis and paul weller hav been confirmed for it, plus its better weather than oxegen lol looks like its confirmed www.nme.com/news/kings-of-leon/42371
