Ah I am so tempted, money is always an issue mind you. And I bet no one would go. I'm gonna hold out for Reading

slane or croke park would have been amazing, its just a shame that the only gig theyre gonna be doing is at oxegen, ill probably do the day ticket thing too but then again, a lot of people may do that if the other headliners are snow patrol and killers, and they prob have a limit on day passes! grrr

Ahh not many people want to see The Killers. I guess it'll be easier to get me a day ticket for that day then ... i wanna go so bad

Is it normal for them to pack so many gigs in?

100 for a day ticket? my four day ticket plus camping was only 190 for last years! Yeah, I know; you get three days for nearly €200 quid, or one (half) day for nearly €100. So it's always better value to buy a weekend pass - if your idea of fun is a weekend at Oxegen, that is . Personally I'd pay the extra 100 quid just to get out of there!!

I really am suprised they are headlining again but only cos I heard MCD dont get the same headliners two years in a row! But clearly the demand is there for the Kings!
Im bittersweet about the whole thing.... Happy cos I will def see them this summer then and sad cos I was kinda hoping for their own gig! Tho I know they do play a long set at Oxegen so thats something, just the 'only Irish appearance of 2009' part of that article was a bit depressing!
Might look in to seeing them abroad maybe too... if the moolah allows!

yea i feel exactly the same way! the only appearance, u dont think that could just be bullshit? as in their only confirmed appearance so far? i can live in hope, i really dont have the funds for that oxegen craic again

Yey I'm doing fund raising work at Oxegen this year for the full 3 days so I'll see this for free. I'm chuffed

what fundraising are you doing? i was considering working at it but behind that crazy bar all day seems annoying as hell

Ya but the plus side to bar work is it's shifts and they close at 10 anyway so you'll deffo see the headliners

I'm raising money for a political party. I've never had to do bar work before so I doubt I will this year. I'll probably be an information clerk which is good fun a few hours work a day and then I can run along to my favourite gigs.

never having been to a music festival before ( ) i was thinking oxegen would be a great place to see the Kings, seeing as they seem to love it so much and get such a good reception but seeing some of these posts...i'm a bit worried can people who know it tell me why they've got a downer on it? is it the crowd or the facilities/organisation, whatever?? i'm also hoping (praying) they'll be at leeds - although i've heard that that has got pretty crowded and expensive lately...

the crowd can be a bit iffy but last year I though the crowd was great, around me anyway! no burning tents or anything. the facilities are pretty shit too. It's really overpriced too! I don't mean to be too negative here but there are definitely better festivals. I think they like the reception cos basically everybody likes them
and sorry guys snow patrol and the killers aren't actually confirmed, just bull on the nme I think, not really sure. I hope not anyway! that'd be bad headliners
