I don’t think this is a duplicate thread so I’ll continue… Thought I start a thread for the song Arizona. I can’t believe one hadn’t been started! Anyway it’s my favourite song of KOL’s and I just wanted people to gush about how much they love it, what they love about it and its meanings! I remember the first time I heard it and I got all teary eyed, it totally blew me away. The music, the vocals….everything about it is perfect. I particularly like Jared’s bass line in it, its just awesome and being able to hear him move up and down the frets gives me shivers. Over to you guys, I hope I get some responses!!

Wow. I was listening to Arizona about an hour ago and thinking about starting a thread about it because oh my God I think it's a fucking brilliant song. I was sitting in the car listening to it with my headphones on and I got all teary. Arizona is an excellent song and you are an excellent person for starting this thread. Karma!

MAN! i love that part, its like a punch in the stomach... but yeah, top notch. it never fails to get me all emotional.. god i hope they play it when i see them *prays*

(listening to Arizona right now,i just had to ) This is also one of my favorite songs by them! The live version is amazing too! My favorite part is Matt's screaming high note guitar solo...i love it when slow beautiful pretty songs have these bad ass screaming guitars in them! It's my ultimate 'kick back and dream of Matt playing guitar' song

I was praying they’d sing it live for me on Wednesday but they didn’t!! I’ve always got June…they could do it then.
I love it when Matt’s guitar is quietly building up in the background when Caleb sings ‘I kinda think I like her, I kinda think I do…’ and then he lets rip. QUALITY!!

I think Arizona is my all time fave song (Trani and My Third House are fairly close tho)!!
I think the lyrics are amazing, I think the drum and bass are amazing but the greatest thing about the song is Matts amazing, spine tingling guitar!!!!!!
I am quite sad that they have decided to take this off setlist, I'd happily see revelry go in favour of this!!! I know others wont agree with that but there ya go!!! I like revelry, its just not a patch on Arizona...........especially live Arizona!! Not many tunes give me chill bumps every time I hear it...............this does!!

yeah the guitar in this song is definitly special! i learned to play that song on my guitar a while ago and a couple of weeks ago i spent like 3 or 4 hours to recreate that pitching, reverb + delay sound and now i play along to this song 10 times a day it's just class! and i totally love jared's bass part after caleb's 'shake hands...'. i just LOVE it!

I can never decide what's my favourite between KOTR and Arizona but I think in the long run it'd definitely be Arizona. I'll never forget watching it on tv at Glasto and me and my mum crying to it haha. The guitar's actually quite simple (I managed to learn it) but it's how it's put together so amazing that makes it for me. The guitar and the bass. And I love the "shake hands" bit. I'm actually in love.

It's just the chills you get when it starts and you know the guitar's coming and it sets your soul soaring and you realise you've been holding your breath and...
...the same happens all over again when it goes quiet after the solo and then builds up for the finish and you're holding your breath again...
...and the way Caleb sings "awkward" and "kinda think I doooo" and the chilled middle bit where the bass makes you go all wibbly and the story that you just KNOW is behind it all whether it be fact or fiction and...
Dammit it's just sublime.
Was that gushy enough for ya?
[edit] I'm gonna go start a My Party thread...

Does anyone find they skip it? Not in a bad way, say I'm with friends or something or I'm not alone I don't like to listen to it cos I can't give it all my attention, so I save it for special occasions

I absolutely love Jared's bass in 'Arizona' it's one of my fave KOL songs!!! Think I'll cue it up right now.
The bass line in 'Notion' reminded me of 'Arizona' when I first heard it.
My fave vid of Arizona:

^The bass at around 4.05 onwards I think just gets me every time!
And Sarah what you said earlier about skipping it when people are around, is that cause you need absolute silence when you listen to it...or you want people to be quiet so they can hear the sheer genius of it? I completely understand cause I'm exactly the same.

I need silence when I listen to it, it has to have all my attention because otherwise I feel bad! It's too good not to listen to properly

I remember when my sister was driving us back home from work one day and I had my mp3 player on, Arizona came on and when she'd parked and stopped the car about 3 minutes of the song had gone. I literally had to stay there and listen to it until the end, I hate having to turn it off mid way through!

I would always choose Milk over Arizona, but I totally agree about having to give it all of your attention...lots of their songs are like that...
What I like about Arizona is how tender it is, I mean it's really heartbreaking and genuine if you really listen to Caleb's voice as he sings it.
