..not melody-wise.
I love Manhattan. Just because it makes me think of summer vacation and just sitting back and drinking and talking and having fun. (the first part anyway).
what is your favorite KOL song based on the lyrics and why?

Trani, it's brilliant, so cutting and witty, yet sad.

Aw, thanks, you needn't. I might think of another one, it's just the first thing that came to mind.
I like various lyric lines, anything about his emotions are nice. Cold Desert is another one I like, the lyrics more than the song itself.

well its difficult to choose because there are so many songs i love lyrically and melodically but i choose Razz. because its a great fast song and because its about jared(i think) because i would mind to be jared, playing in a band like kol and because i love the bass(i play the bass myself) and it reminds me the first times i listen to kol. good thread by the way

The Bucket is fun to sing along to...I once told a friend at last year's company Christmas party (where they had karaoke) that I would sing if there was a Kings of Leon song available, which I thought for sure they wouldn't have, and wouldn't you know it, they did have The Bucket! I didn't do it that night (the party was almost over so they wouldn't allow any more singing) but I learned it all and now I'm ready for next time...of course, I might clear out the room with my vocal rendition

This is pretty difficult but i would possibly have to pick soft (not for the reasons everyone thinks ) I just think its a brilliantly written song my favourite line in a KOL song ever is Behind the fringe of a whiskey high mutilating cat like eyes, and in your nose blood decadence you try to drag me into your bohemian dancing you paint my fingers and you paint my toes, you let your perfect nipple show he's got such a nack for words, I love the bucket to but there all pretty brilliant

if I had to choose one, it'd be Knocked Up. It doesn't have the best lyrics, but they are gorgeous and together with Matt's guitar----perfection

i actually wrote part of a paper for one of my classes on ragoo and how the song's lyrics mean a lot to me so i will have to go with that one. but i could definitely say true love way and cold desert, too. cold desert hits me like a ton of bricks.
but ragoo, that song reminds me of summer to an extreme. the entire song is this self-conscious tale and the best part, to me, is when they start singing, "we ain't even been to the ocean, we been runnin' barefoot through streets," it's so beauuutiful. and true love way has a lot of parts in it that really mess me up in a good way. every line in that song is fucking beautiful, really.

holy roller, cause its so damn sexy, king of the rodeo, because you just want to spit out the words knocked up, because its a classic all american teenage love song and so passionate and heartfelt and finally revelry because it makes me want to cry every time i hear it, its so beautiful and full of regret.
ok i know thats 4 but they're my faves lyric wise off each album
