At the moment it seems like everywhere you go in the UK their faces are everywhere and their songs and videos are being played to the death on the music channels, it's almost as if they're a new band.
It's probably just the hype of the new album. Give it a few weeks and it'll all die down and then we'll see how many still stick around.

^^ Yeah i agree, you will know the difference from the real fans and what i like to call ipod fans in a few weeks when it has all died down. I am protective over them not in a violent way, I remember this guy in this nightclub starting slagging them off probably just to wind me up and my mate looked at him and said " i wouldnt have really said that you've opened up a whole can of worms there mate, you'll never win the argument she's like their biggest fan!" and i just ranted on for ages and i think the guy just looked at me and thought saddo! LOL but if someone has a fair argument i listen to it and put my side across but i hate these people that just go "yeah KOL their shit!" so in what way exactly are they shit? please expand on that view! grrrrr!

That's a pretty harsh thing to say! Bet there are a bunch of KOL fans wishing the same on him now. the fighting ones, anyway. x

I will never understand people who hear one song by a band and say they don't like the band. :$ You can't judge a band and their music on one song.

i get protective when people say that Sex on Fire is their best song when this is blatantly not the case. It also annoys me how people have just started to get into them. After the 3rd i would understand but the 4th

ive never felt this kinda way about a band though. Im so overly protective, Even to like my family if they say anything remotely derogatory towards KOL i properly fall out with them!

this thread has just summed up all of my feelings towards the new kol obsession, i was getting ready to head out the other night and typically had kol playing full blast, when my flatmate shouts at me to put on fans, and then sex on fire..pfft meanwhile i have these friends that are your typical rihanna in with the charts and nothing else folks who were playing a mixed cd at one of their parties, and for some reason SoF came on and i didnt want to listen to it! but then i think, are we being petty? times are bad when my notorious pussycat doll lovin friend tells me she likes SOF, when SOOOO many times in the past she has slagged the life out of the kings, uagggh (u may wonder why i have friends with such shit taste but theyre good people i swear)

it does worry me when i hear people who listen to rihanna and girls aloud then start playing sex on fire haahaa but i'll just have to get over it, but it annoys me more so when i play other kings of leon songs and then they start saying its crap, ive never been so close to knocking someone out

You think Rihanna is bad? My friend who listens to Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers does not stop singing Sex On Fire. :-\ and about 10 people from my old school now have Sex On Fire on their myspace :-\ they usually listen to MC and that kinda music.

i think its pretty damn cool that we have this forum as a outlet for our love for this band. everyone would at least get at least a bit huffy with someone if they messed with the boys or dissed them remotely. fans plays at work at no one even knows it but bang on about sex on fire. . . . . .
but i can secretly smile and know where my heart lies and where the other fans can be found.
(wow that sounded kinda gushy, but hell i mean it!)

I can relate to this thread.
I was at a friends house and was talking to a friend to whom i'd introduced the Kings to. That is all of the Kings new and old. He thanks me for it too, loves 'em now. Anyways, i was sitting at a table with some people talking to him about it when one kid interjects a statement something to the effect of, "their new album is sick!". I agreed with him, and then asked if he knew any of their older stuff. He hadnt even listened to because of the times. This wouldnt have bothered me. Lots of people dont have the privilege of people like me to expose them to the kings. So i didnt hold it against him. It was only when he started playing System of a down and other idiotic bands on the sound system that my heart sunk.
