Jiggly, are you still as annoyed as you sounded back there?? I respect what's obviously a considered and strongly held view and not the opinion of a passing moment - just wondering. Mmm - haven't we all felt like that about something at some time! Truth is , nothing stands still, and I'm getting a big kick out of seeing the kings develop musically, and become more widely known, even though I don't like the way they are going quite as much as before. I feel proud, it's a bit like watching children growing up (& I have three) - maybe we don't always like their choices, the company they keep, their goddamn hair! ( ) In my house we're playing "spot the kol" - points if you hear them being played as background on tv programmes. They seem to be all over everything and anything at the moment - from Jamie Oliver to Blue Peter - (Knocked Up intro is winning) and who knows if that's a good thing I don't care who likes them or how many, or when they started, or which albums. If rules like that applied I would never have been allowed into the bob dylan likers group Just wanting them to be able to look back when their old and be able to say that they made the music they wanted to make and achieved what they wanted to achieve - pretty much what I would say for my children, HAers and anyone else! (oh - and me)

^^^ How nicely put . I must give you karma for that. I get the 'proud' feeling about them too! And you are right. They are people too, and they have goals and dreams and hopes for what they would like to see their lives turn into, and who are we to judge them just because they do something we (the fans) arent 100% happy with. Thanks for the perspective!

yeah they are in the background of everything on tv! but i agree why is this the album that made them big??? I thought BOTT would have and was surprised when it didn't, this is a bit too boring or something...

I think this album made them bigger because the sound is much more mainstream (e.g. you can actually understand caleb's lyrics ) BOTT was the same, but for a lot of people who didnt know them, that was a kind of 'debut' album into the mainstream. I think it has alot to do with how much they've proved their talent over the summer at festivals too... the only thing i dislike is how people jump on the bandwagon nowadays, saying they 'love' KOL when they have about 2 songs... BUT I think everything else they deserve. I'll miss the smaller gigs, but they've had their day and I think the guys are way overdue the big time. x

I have to deal with a billion of these sorts of threads on a daily basis. ..a billion huh? jasmine no offence here, but you could tell by the 2nd line of ilovekol's post what this was going to be about and if you find it so hard to 'deal' with threads like these. why don't you just stop reading, and click "back" you post was quite the harsh one, plus you offended people that get upset when they get smited. just because you don't care about a number, doesn't mean you have to impose your views on others and laugh in their face. this forum is for people opinions, and im all for them!... until they hurt peoples feelings. im not saying i care about karma, i might, i might not, but im just saying you may be hurting more people's feelings than you realise Well, the post wasn't about karma's and the few people who take that line and blow it out of context and proportion are probably the ones looking for more drama than there really is. Since you brought it up, I guess I should clarify that one sentence. When people make threads saying that they are leaving because of smiters, I do find it funny. I just think there are real reasons to want to leave a great site. Imposing my views? Never have done that, nor have I laughed in anyone's face. I just think the idea of leaving because of that is funny, and the only reason I brought it up was because my post wasn't the nice "everybody get happy and love one another" post and that people were gonna want to hang me or something and smite me. The whole point of that was to say "go ahead and smite me, it's not going to make me want to leave". Me as in Jasmine. This was probably the first time I didn't censor myself. I don't normally post on these sorts of threads, and so I finally said, "you know what, I'm finally going to speak up and say what's really on my mind, since everyone else does".

All I know is that if I see anyone swaying back and forth with a lighter (or cellphone) in the air at a KOL concert, I just might have to throw my beer bottle at them. (Just kidding - I would never do that. I don't like wasting beer)

Back in the day when they were little known and I was championing thier cause to anyone that would listen, the one thing I wanted was for this generation of SHIT music lovers to finally come round to what's good. Now they are big, I hope its because the audience has come around to them and not because they have come around to the audience.ahhhh! genius! yes....i think they have come around to the audience, leaving some of the old audience behind. just look at some of the old threads on this forum, a lot of old members are not on here anymore.

As long as all of us guys are there, swaying our Wassup-flags and beer bottles, who cares if some mainstream kids have a good night out? They could've gone to a Jonas Brothers concert instead (mmm, maybe not), but luckily for taste sake they didn't.
Anyhow the fans who've only recently discovered our Tennesse gems will thus be paying for gallons of beer for our Followills, by that ensuring a alcohol fueled new album very shortly. Maybe it would be best for all the rockloving fans if KOL just had their hayday for a few months and then returned home. After a while, the not-so-fanatic-KOL-lovers would find some new idol to admire, and KOL would fall into oblivion.... Wishful thinking! If it hadn't been for their extremely good looks and matching talents (random order), nobody would have noticed them in the first place. And chances are that the fruits of fame taste so good on the guys, that not being able to rise to that occasion would be so off-putting, that they would resolve into Stroke-like behavior. Aaarrrrgh.
KOL deserve the respect and success they're experiencing right now. Any fan deserves respect for his/her great taste. And the long time fans simply had that great taste for music years ago.

like so: learn from the master (pee) That'd be the one!! Except ill have one of those pink glittery cowboy hats too!! Only problem now is how to hold the glow stick........ (no smart comments please :-p) About the present versus past audience - imo all KOL can do is make the music they wanna make, if people choose not to listen to it thats their choice and KOL arent responsible for that
