Is everyone disappointed that theres no 'big rockers' etc (besides Crawl, surely?) because Jared said this album would "Rock harder" and it is actually more mellow than the other KOL albums?
Or is it because pure and simply y'all miss BOTT and all of its big rockers?
If its the latter...surely you could just listen to BOTT when you wanna hear some big rockers lol...
Its the same as people saying I wanna hear more songs like Spiral Staircase on new KOL albums...why not go listen to Spiral Staircase?
Astounded of forehead.

sexonfire, I think its better if you just ignore everyone else's opinion and come to your own conclusions on the album. I mean that in the nicest possible way to you and everyone else, its just whats the point in deciding if you like something based on whether or not other people like it?

It's just my opinion and taste and I know it's not what music is solely about, but I like songs that make you wanna tap your feet and dance. And for me, the only songs that do this are Sex on Fire and Notion. Maybe I will like the slower songs more when I'm in a different mood!

You know, Jared is the biggest lier EVER! Not only did he say it would rock harder, which it really doesn't seem to be, he also said they'd be going back to their roots...I'm not angry that they have changed so much, just 'cause Jared was talking ruuubbish!

But I'm not saying that i feel upset because i might not like it because the majority don't like it. I'm upset at the fact that the fans don't like it which will probably upset the boys who are trying to please us the fans. I have it now but contemplating listening to it now or waiting.

Theres nowhere near as many bells as people say there are in 17. Its not my favourite, but I still like it. I feel like that song is going to turn into this album's "Camaro". Its either people are going to love it or hate it. But theres definately going to be a lot more discussion about it once the album comes out.
If you don't like bells, whatever you do don't listen to Frances The Mute by The Mars Volta. Theres a ridiculous ammount of bells in that song. If there was a bell competition, it would win hands down.

I think it's better that they didn't went to the old roots again. It's not that I don't like YAYM cause it's the all time classic album, but it's just that the sound of this album is way better , cause you can explore more when you're ina certain mood.

LOUD. i like it, but it is veeeery chilled back. caleb's pain killing meds are all over the album.

I think all these songs will sound better live. I heard Sex on Fire, Manhattan and Crawl live already at All Points West and they all sounded better there than on this album. KoL tried to hard to make songs perfect and ended up making them worse. If they recorded this cd live in the studio like they did with ASH it would've been amazing. But the way they did it the vocals stick out too much over everything else. In all the other albums everything was equal. Now all the instruments are lowered and it's all vocals.
I like this cd a lot, but I think it could have been done better... the only song I really don't like on it is I Want You... don't really understand why so many people like it...

first of all i have already pre-ordered OBTN on itunes but i have also listened to the leak here is my opinion
CLOSER - A real grower when i first heard was not sure but now i love it! 8/10
CRAWL - Everyone heard this! But i love it! 9/10
SEX ON FIRE - As above 9/10
USE SOMEBODY - this would have a 10/10 but there is one bit of the song which does not sound right just after the second chourus . It a massive rock ballad which sounds like U2 its a great song 9/10
MANHATTAN - lovely song but not as strong as some of the other songs on album 7/10
REVERY - one of the weaker tracks has not hit me yet 6/10
17 - an album filler really don't like this one 5/10
NOTION - i liked it from the very first time i heard it! 8/10
I WANT YOU - a bluesy feel to it a new sound for KOL which i quite like! 7/10
BE SOMEBODY - To me it sounds like 2 different songs been put together which works increadibly well! 8/10
COLD DESERT - What an album closer! i thought arizona would be hard to beat but this song has beat it! 9/10
Overall although a mellower album i really love the album it has some great tunes which would appel to the mainstream a lot more. Singles to be released if it was up to me would be Sex On Fire followed by Use Somebody followed by Crawl followed by Cold Desert and the general public would then buy this in their millions as these are 4 songs which massive radio appeal!
Without doubt this will be KOL biggest selling album to date.
