i do like the album, but i would have liked it to have more of a mixture of upbeat songs and slow songs, whereas this one is just full of slow chillout songs.
I just cant see myself saying yeahh lets play only by the night!!
This is one of these albums for me that i lay in bed at night with my ipod on to chill out and go to sleep.

Having said this they are all amazing songs. I adore Closer, Use Somebody, Be Somebody, Cold Desert and I want you.
I realy like revelry too. And obviously as we know sex on fire and Manhattan are amazing. But i think manhattan is muchh better live.

I dont know if thats because all we have been able to hear of the song is live so we didnt know it any other way? And we liked it enough live so anything diffferent doesnt compare? I dont know.

But I have to say, i really dont like 17
Its just way too christmas-y? I hate christmas as it is... this just annoys the heck out of me that there is a KOL song thats so christmas-y i cant listen to it!!

But yeah, overall a bunch of really good songs, with a southern feel. Its just really different from anything they have done before.
I wouldnt say im disappointed at all... just maybe i wasnt expecting this from the kings?
I think its a grower.

Wow definately some beautiful songs on this album, cold desert and be somebody as well as closer are probably the stand outs from the new songs we haven't heard

I've already learnt the cold desert melody, so great to play

is it just me or does some of the songs just start ! i mean like manhatten, there is no build intro, it just starts ??

yeh definately! like use somebody aswell it sort of switches very suddenly in parts of the song but still good, it couldve been longer and a bit more natural progression i guess

the ending of be somedoby does make me think what could have been had they rocked a bit harder,but im really not disappointed i really love this album already.17 is the only throw away track.

I think the album is really amazing!
Right now Use somebody is my favourite, everthing's great in that song,
Especially Matthews singing and guitar solo, and Jareds bass in the second verse!

Use Somebody is beautiful and definitely my favorite even if it sounds the most "commercial". Revelry sounds like a country song to me! I love it but it's just funny how different and slow it is compared to everything else they've done. I don't mean musically country but, more like Caleb's voice has that twang to it. It is funny to hear coming from him.
17 = Christmas music. It's a little too much. Cold Desert gives me chills ("Hand over your heart, let's go home")

I laughed at Be Somebody the first time I heard it (I think it's the "I shake it your way") but I really do love it. I just picture Caleb dancing The drums are AWESOME. Nathan is strutting his stuff. And Caleb's voice sounds great too...the chorus is surprising and beautiful.

It is very similar but it's definately not exactly the same. The Arizona bassline would fit quite nicely though.

Definately buying this album too - after 2 or 3 listens I'm starting to love the whole thing.

I was like..."Is this a trailer rip off or something, isn't there supposed to be an intro for that song lol hehe, it's good though
