I kinda think it was leaked on purpose...The website thats posting it is sooooo easily found and RCA havent done anything about it.All it takes is a complaint from them to get it taken down but its STILL there after a week! Every Kol album has been leaked before its release date!..It makes me wonder..
Would they do it to up ticket sales(in the US obviously) because bands make more money on tour than by record sales..
Not that im trying to say theyre sell outs cause im not! Just pondering.

I wouldn't be surprised if Album 5 is the real deal. I have a feeling this album was a little forced, a song from ASH?... pushed release capitalising on Glastonbury..... I hope they tour their asses off once more and then take a good 6 months out chilling out and getting some rest, and then, because they have "made it". They take their time and make one hell of an album. In the mean time I'm going to enjoy all the music they have made, because at then end of the day, this album has some killer tracks on it.

I just had a little look through the thread again, missed a lot when I got caught up in defending the album It seems like quite a few people are under the impression that this album is 'record company driven'. That would be weird cos the Kings said this is how they've always wanted to sound, they've just never been able to do it until now. Maybe its more of a case that these unhappy fans are using any excuse possible as they can't admit that the band they loved for the upbeat, 'southern tinged' rocknroll of yaym and to an extent ash, have now found their true identity, which does not match said fans' preferences... Who knows. I don't even know if that made sense haha

it did and i think you make a great point, but the reality is, without the fans the kings of leon are nothing they cab make as many albums as they want but if no one buys them or goes to see them then what happens then? i have a feeling that when the albums out and we have it on our ipods, in our cars, hearing it on the radio it will grow on us. it has already grown on me a lot more

That's what i've been saying all along too!! Not the bit about Glastonbury, but I was thinking it, after hearing that interview with Caleb saying they had no intention of doing another album right away until they got the Glasto call. I hope the same. That they take a well deserved break after they're done touring, then head back into the studio after a while and make a better record than any of us could ever think possible. This album has some great pieces to it and it's growing on me the more i listen to it. This just adds a new, more mellow element to all the phenomenal 136 Kings tracks on my iPod when I click shuffle.

I wish band's would spend more time with their fans and do more for them cos I feel a lot of bands REALLY neglect the only people that care about them... I'm not really meaning KOL in that cos I think they've generally been good to the fans. But little things like giving us their blessing to let us share bootlegs of live shows is always a nice touch lol silly things like that though, I dunno if I'm explaining myself properly. I'm not saying the Kings are bad to us, they're decent enough, could be better. Another example, why isn't the Maida Vale gig purely people from here...? We're some of the most die hard fans they have. But the Kings are in higher demand than ever before, they're selling out faster etc I think some of it comes down to how keen a fan is to follow the band rather than one of their albums or whatever. The band shouldn't be denied the right to explore new musical territory...if some fans don't wanna follow any further then thats just the way it goes I guess, at least they have those albums that they do love and enjoy. New fans will join in at different points as well which could amount to a larger following than before, even with the lose of a significant amount of original fans. There's many ifs, buts and maybes regarding the whole situation lol. I'm not getting at you in this post by the way its mainly just my thoughts being poured onto the page lol Again I dunno if I've made much sense cos I really started rambling and its late so I'm getting tired lol My apologies!

Irony is-
KoL's internet fan base ripping their albums before they're released.
Irony is nice.
Couldabeen, you should wait till it comes out so you can get that feeling of going to the store and ripping the plastic off and hearing it with that new CD Case smell.

It's obvious to me that all the nay sayers have yet to get high to the album. It fucking blows all their other shit out of the water. Ok maybe i shouldnt say that but this album is just so refreshing. I dont think its going to get old for me. It's going to be a classic in my book. Who cares that its not packed with cock rockin' jams. They've already done that and any further evolution in that area would just start to get redundent. This album is such an expansion in creativity. And his voice. Well, i'd be perfectly happy making love with him crooning in the back ground. Can't everyone just appreciate the album for what it is? You'll get more soon enough. Just enjoy what the artists have created and open up to it. I would say though that sex on fire is my least favorite on the album. But the others are gold. And as an american i really approve of crawls political message. Really great lyrics on this album in general. Huge improvement. I feel like i actually connect to at least 3/4's of the songs on it. Maybe thats why i like it so much. It wasnt the case with the others. I feel like we've been watching the airplane that is KOL slowly take off with each release of an album and now they're just soaring. First post, woot. p.s i dont see any reason to wait to listen to it. You just get to be cooler than everyone else. You're just obligated to buy it when it comes out. Believe me you'll want to. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- holy shit...i seriously can't even put into words how much better one appreciates this album when high...and i'm not a stoner or anything...but for anyone wanting an out-of-this-world experience...get high and blare CLOSER...it's amazing. So....rainman...you're totally right. I fully agree with your opinion on their evolution and their actual messages in this album. It's not all about their horny/ drugged/ party animal image anymore...it's about growing as artists and making a record that defines them as such--artists.
