haha you're welcome homegrown I posted this in another thread but I think it fits here too... I'd like to think at the end of the day, they don't care what the people, who downloaded their album before the release date and now have no intention of buying a physical copy, think. I could be wrong but I've just got this sneaky feeling folks I'm still buying it the day it comes out even though I don't think its that great, they've worked hard and deserve the money.

for me so far, i have only herd some of the album
closer crawl sex on fire manhatton use sombody 17 revalry i want you
and all i can say is that it sounds so rushed, and i cant help but feel dissapointed by it, the reason i liked their music was it was untouchable, knowone sounded like them, knocked up is a good example....this album so far is weak.
and that really upsets me....they will still be good live though....they always do.
i just hope that the songs i havent herd yet are good manhatton is good though...i must admitt that.

Seventeen grows on you, I really like it now. Okay maybe i'm going crazy. Haven't listened to it that much but that very noise smashing of the percussion and that bell-sound, i kinda felt like listening to it earlier, now i'm really starting to enjoy it!
Although I remember reading some review on the album and I thought i read that there was some hectic drum solo in it. I can't find it! but the drumming is still nice.

I wish people would stop comparing it to YAYM. That was years ago, when they were young and raw. Bands evolve, progress and develop. No band ever stayed the same, and if they did, i doubt they were very successful.
The Kings have matured now and this album is where they're at, at the moment. It's a great, great album. Closer is one of their best tracks i reckon. As is Cold Desert, Sex On Fire and Crawl. Yes it has it's flaws; the bells on 17, the lack of a upbeat tune towards the back end of the album, but so what?
I've pre-ordered it as well...
LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!

People need to get off their KOL high horse and stop prattling on about how bad the album is and actually bloody listen to it rather than critisising it ! There is some TOTAL blinding tracks on here. dont get me wrong - its different ! Woooo ! Its different !!!! Its not ASH, BOTT, YYMH, its a ne album and they have put a different sound to it, but its still KOL. I would say that Notion, I Want You and 17 are the only not so good tracks upto KOL standard, and i think thats where the feeling of it been rushed out comes from. The opener Closer is a wicked track as is Crawl, Sex On Fire, Revelry, and Use somebody. But Be Somebody, Cold Desert and manhatten are pure class, and i just cant get enuff of all the tracks and it is growing on me with every listen. Especially Be somebody, closer, cold desert. Manhatten is a nice track but the recording dosnt do it justice, and it def sound sbetter live from what ive heard. Ppl need to give way to the past, its gone, if the new album isnt your bag, well so be it !! Personally i am starting to F'in love it. yes, it dosnt smack u in the face, like Mollys Chamber, Charmer, Trani, it sounds different laid back slightly, and yes it may have been pushed and prodded by the record company suits, and yes the album me be slightly over produced, and a bit abrupt in places, and a few strange ideas like the fade out to quiet then back into to full volume, BUT ... Its Kings of Leon, and i bloody love it !!
the pulse to Closer is pulsatin thru my head !
I think people need to listen, open there minds again abit, they cant keep making ASH and YYMH etc, 4 albums in 6years, come on people, how many bands have done that? a few dodgy tracks here, but honestly there isnt any dodgy tracks from the last 6 years is there really ??
