awh that vid is kind of sad. you think the people would try and get into it. i dunno, over here we'd be bopping along to anything waiting for another band to come on. you don't have to know the words to sing woah woah woah woaaaaaaaaah! it would be upsetting though cos most bands are popular in their home country. you have to feel sorry for the fans in america but you can understand where they're coming from. they've worked so hard in america and nothing much has come from it. maybe sometime though!
and who are the jonas brothers?

That's the face of a true 'rockstar'. When you can play in front of who knows how many people...thousands, and still make a face like that (possibly of out disappointment) then you've probably been to a lot of different places.

As an American, I do feel as though there aren't many Kings fans, but over the years, I've learned to accept it. (I personally like all kinds of music and don't limit myself to just one genre). You have to remember these record companies really aren't pressing the issue either. If they really believed in some of these acts, they'd be 100% behind them trying to help out, but as they all are about making the dollar, music like the Jonas Brothers, which I'm not really into, will continue to out sell acts like the Kings. Then again, there are some bands who aren't meant to be uber-famous, so maybe for us Americans, this is a good thing because you know what will happen if they ever really make it over here. You'll have a bunch of band-wagon folk jumping on board who don't really even know what they are doing and then, we'll get sick and tired of the Kings. I'd love to see them play stadiums, personally, but I've learned to just be a fan. As long as they keep churning out the goods, I'm good. I agree. Here in America it's more about rap and hip hop (I do love it though!). Kings of Leon just don't fit in as well as they do in the UK. It's kind of sad but you learn to just deal with it. All of the people I know either hate Kings of Leon or have never heard of them because they aren't played on the radio. Most of the radio stations in Atlanta are rap so no one hears much of anything else.

i listened to one whole minute of kids of the future. they are ridiculously bad. and they all look 13 what age are they? are they actually brothers?

they're brothers. i think one is 15, one is 17 and one is 19, or something. they terrify me but their hardcore fans scare me more. after apw, i was pretty wasted and i was in penn station SURROUNDED BY THOUSANDS OF THOSE LITTLE SUCKERS and i tried to talk to one of the girls about the show and she instinctively thought i was mocking her and i'm not quite sure i wasn't.

I'm sorry, I was at APW also, but I must say, they were NOT working hard. You have to be flexible and be able to work the crowd if they're not giving you what you expect. I've never really seen any video where the band, specifically Caleb, are working the crowd to try to get them fired up if they're not. For instance, Pearl Jam, one of my other favorite bands, are masterful at working big crowds. It's hard work sometimes, and it's been talked about how Eddie Vedder used to be wiped after shows because he worked so hard. Caleb has never really done that. The energy in their shows comes solely from the crowd most of the time. They don't give much of their own energy, which is disappointing.

Aww that was heartbreakin man, just wanna tell him its ok we all love them! Its kinda funny though how KOL like Radiohead and Radiohead like KOL but the majority of those people obviously at that moment were Radiohead fans trying to get a good spot but they didn't appreciate the Kings. I find that really poor on the crowds part because I bet they're a bunch of pretentious snobs that think cos they like Radiohead they're awesome and have this amazingly eclectic taste in music. If they were truly eclectic they would realise they were watching one of the best American bands ever. Idiots. And please no one take that as a dig at Radiohead, I love them and saw them at Glasgow Green recently

in response to the origional topic message on page one:
from what i gather (what i read and see) it seems like they are really keen for the US to just finally 'get them'...in a manner of speaking. its been a very slow process and they kinda owe it to the UK to be the way they are towards them, i mean it was because of them they are where they are. and just for the record... Australia actually gets the album first... we get it on the 20th sep... so i dont think the release date has anything to do with playing favorites.
i dont know how to do that thing where you like quote someone. sorry.

Regarding the Jonas Brothers and their extremely unfortunate popularity in the States:
When my boyfriend and I were in New York, we were walking around Central Park, by the Trump Towers. All of a sudden I hear this collective, blood-chilling adolescent girl scream. Right away I knew: oh the Jonas Brothers are in that hotel. And sure enough...later saw a Youtube video of the crazy madness.
I've never heard one of their songs, don't know their names but I know the Jonas Brothers are hot ticket right now...don't ask me why!
