If anyone can rip from Alex Zanes breakfast show I think the quality will be better with nobody running their mouth over the end of the song

The more I listen to it, the more I like it. Caleb's singing is really good. It's a whole different sound, but I love it!

im not liking this track but i prefer it to 'use somebody'. they're both catchy songs but sound monogamous and will probably get old quickly in my opinion.

Okay, let’s just get this straight…I think “Sex on Fire” is fantastic and in my opinion there’s really nothing the Kings could play that I wouldn’t like. I am indeed a dedicated fan to them and am happy they are growing in their musical talents and exploring new sounds, etc.
My opinion is right, the rest of you are totally wrong! *that was a joke by the way* To those of you who don’t quite “feel” the new songs yet, try giving it some more listens and/or time. Sometimes new music from your favorite band has to “grow” on you if you aren’t used to it.

Oh, don't go all 'martyr' on us. You got called out on what you said and now you're backtracking and trying to act like you didn't do anything to be called out. I mean, we're discussing "Sex On Fire" in the SEX ON FIRE thread. Where else should be have discussed this? And if you don't want to discuss musical opinions because of the 'vastness' of it, that's totally cool. But you shouldn't then come into a discussion thread about the music and then complain about people having differing opinions. And that stuff about karma is bull. Ruby got docked because she wasn't completely positive about the song. Sorry, but that's not cool. I wish had been on here earlier to stick up for MsFollowill when this was happening. In my opinion MsFollowill was right - discussions about music don't go down well because everyone has a different opinion and no one is right or wrong. Don't get me wrong - i enjoy a healthy discussion about it - but the problem is people like you come along and start talking down to others. MsFollowill wasn't complaining about people having different opinions, she was merely pointing it out. That was her opinion - and you starting giving out to her about it. You were giving out to her about, not only for something she didn't do, - but something you were actually doing yourself. I'm the kind of person to avoid confrontations - but in this case someone really needed to back MsFollowill up.

its my least favorite of the new ones Totally, totally agree, I think this song is absolute shit! No offence to anyone who likes it, but I've been an fan of theirs since the early days, and this is as far away as possible from their older sound as can be. I originally loved their music because they were unique and individual, southern-inspired good rock music, and that they didn't sound like any other average commercial band out there. I know full well that they are developing and changing and evolving as a band continuously, and each album will sound different from the next, obviously, but this song sounds like a cheesy stadium rock song, its absolute bollocks. its so remote form what I thought they stood for (good southern- inspired dirty rock) This song sound common and like any other song out there, its monotonous and boring. There's nothing special or dirty about it. I'm kinda disappointed actually (Love crawl though lol) If they want to be popular and like any other shit band out there then good luck to em', but I have a feeling that hard core kol fans who originally liked em' for their unique sound will be so disappointed with this song. I'm so anti this type of music, I just really hope the rest of the album won't go down the stadium rock path. I understand what you saying Ruby. I like the song, but it's definately not the dirty rock song that i was wanting to hear. there's still probably 7 songs or so that we haven't heard yet, hopefully there will be a few songs that are similar to the YAYM sound.

My brother got a mention on Jo Whileys show before they played it today (Dan from Ashford Kent). He texted in to say he heard it on Zanes show last night and that he thought it is brilliant and that we are going to Brixton next week to see them, I texted as well but didn't get mentioned!

oh come on!! im probably gonna get majorly smited for this but its only an opinion like everyone else's. i'm getting a bit dissapointed by everyone saying how its crap and that its so different from what they used to sound like but i cant see that its a million miles away from say california waiting or summat its more polished it sounds bigger and caleb sings more but its still kol and we have only heard like 4 songs off this album maybe there's gonna be some great rocking songs still to come. just want people to give it a chance.
sorry i know all you guys have your opinions and if you dont like it fine but i was just gettin that off my chest.

I agree with Kim - Sex On Fire kicks ass and i love it, yet theirs still something distinctly KOL about it.
Maybe alot of you weren't around on this forum back then - but when Because of the Times came out everyone said the exact same stuff and had the same opinions about On Call.

You were giving out to her about, not only for something she didn't do, - but something you were actually doing yourself. I'm the kind of person to avoid confrontations - but in this case someone really needed to back MsFollowill up. Oh lord, I have never seen a more sensitive message board in my entire life! First off, did you go back and read everything she wrote or just the last part? Because if you did and you still think she needs defending then you fail at message board decorum. Let me spell this out for you. She got upset because some people didn't like the song and she didn't like that because then other people might get upset because they DID like the song. And then she said people just shouldn't discuss the music because (1) someone's feelings might get hurt and (2) SHE DIDN'T CARE about others opinions. Nowhere did I say that she wasn't entitled to her opinion or that her opinion was wrong. All I did was point out the ridiculousness of coming into the music section to complain about people discussing the music. I'm sorry, but do you not see the irony here? The whole purpose of a message board is to discuss things. Here we are on the MUSIC section of said message board discussing - or we WERE discussing - the MUSIC. You don't come into the music section of a message board and get upset that people are discussing the music! That's like going to a nude beach and bitching about all the nekkid people! If you don't want to discuss the music, then don't! There are many other sections of this board and about 8 jillion threads. Why not hang out where you're more comfortable? You know what would have been smarter to do Neon? It would have been smarter to PM MsFollowill and let her know if this happens again you got her back. Instead you come into the thread - you know the music thread about "Sex On Fire" - and change the subject BACK to something that had pretty much been resolved. MsFollowill said to leave her alone and I did because I'm smart enough to know when someone's NOT GETTING THE POINT. And you bring this back up! Listen, this ain't up for discussion anymore. It's over and done. This thread is about "Sex On Fire" OK? And since it is about "Sex On Fire", let me point this out. There were only 7 negative responses to this song out of approximately 21 on this thread. Which means about 1/3 of the people who bothered to comment in this thread didn't care for it - so far. 7 =/= everybody and neither does 1/3. So I think it's a bit silly to get riled up over a few people's differing opinions.

Jeez everyone is getting a little heated on this thread everyone is entitled to their opinion and they dont deserve to be smited just because they voice that opinion. Anyways the song........ ?? hmmm im in two minds like I have been for the last 3 new songs but 2 of them have really grown on me and i love them. I dont know what i was expecting with this one well i lie i do, i was expecting a kick ass rock tune and i dont think we have it, in my opinion (and this is MY opinion) its sounds like it should be on the Top Gun soundtrack! im just a bit dissapointed, i was so looking forward to hearing this and i maybe set my expectations too high, but i will give it a chance, like ive always said i hated 'on call' when it first came out but i ended up loving it after a few listens so who knows
