I think Nathan's fabulouso drumming deserves a thread of it's own where you can post your favourite drum solos or songs that you really love his drumming in. I adore his drumming in Milk, Black Thumbnail, My Party, Razz, McFearless, Woo-Hoo, My Third House and Charmer. I Love Nathans drumming!!!!

What a superb topic for a thread. As you have probably all guessed I am a Nathan girl and I feel that he is sometimes overlooked because he's always stuck at the back of the stage. I think he is the most talented out of all the guys and definitely the best looking!! Mcfearless has got to be one of the songs where his talent really shines through. I love this man

I think Nathan is generally considered to be the most talented King by other musicians, just from hearing people talk about KOL, I find it hard to agree because they can do no wrong for me really.
McFearless does display his drumming ability the best I think.
I love the bit on True Love Way where he speeds up just as Matt's bit at the end begins. I think its more noticeable on live versions. That bit of that song is the best part of BOTT for me.

Gotta agree his drumming is amazing.
He makes even the simple beats sound awesome.
My mate who I (finally) got into KOL said he was most impressed with the drummer, especially after I borrowed him the Hammersmith Apollo live DVD :]

i think the bucket is marvellous, drumming wise....i dont think many other drummers would have come up with a beat like that...
lets not forget the first album too....he kept it simple..but not too simple if thats makes sense
i reckon thats why hes rated so much....he listens to the song on the whole..doesn't just think o what would make me good in this song....his beats always fit perfectly
god bless nathan followill!

From a drummer : Nathan is what we call a Pocket Drummer. The 'Pocket' (or 'Groove'), is what drummers us to refer to when a beat sits in really well with the music (hence the term 'sitting in the pocket'), but isn't hard or anything, it just matches the song very well and finds brilliance in simplicity. Nathan is a great example of a Pocket Drummer and how to make a beat that gets people tapping their foot or jump to. Almost every KOL drum-beat and fill could be 'technically' learned in a day or two - but it would take years to play them as well as Nathan does. The guy understands music, what fits, and what doesn't, i look up to him for that - and thats why i think he's a great drummer

I wanna say, and this is going from memory alone, that "The Bucket" has to be one of my fav's that's he's done as far as (well of course) drumming goes. There's a certain part in that song when he (forgive me for sounding like an ass) starts doing all these supercool, drumming things that I can't properly explain for the life of me.
And as a side, it's always nice to see that people are mentioning the drummer. I often find that they and bass players get overlooked a lot in bands.

I was at a show full of little girls in the pit, I probably stuk out like a soar thumb because nobody was really moving around. I remember feeling like he was rocking out with me a few times.

I love the drumming so much I feel the need to comment again.
I love the fact he uses a double kicker (I think that's what it's called) on Charmer when they play it live.
During Jared's little bass solo bit towards the end. I think it's amazing.

^^You mean double bass drum pedal? Double Kicker does make it sound so much more bad ass, though. (if that's what you meant)

I didn't know he used double-bass! I was really impressed with what i though was his single bass speed on Charmer and all......
