Yes! and then you have to imagine Caleb roaming around the desert all roostery and swigging from a whiskey bottle and me coming to rescue him

I love in the version of Radioactive without the choir, during the "sold yourself away" part, the way Caleb says "awayyyyy". He drags it out and it sounds cool

I love the "woo hoos" in Woo Hoo The talking in My Third House (none of which I can understand apart from someone shouting "Caleb!") The way Caleb sings "meeeeeeee" in Fans "Saaaaalty Leeeeeave" sends a shiver down my spine The bit in Califorina Waiting when Caleb goes a bit mental Not sure if I've mentioned Caleb enough there.

I don't know what it is but the line, "hair so red I couldn't keep her" in Beneath The Surface is my favorite.
The high pitched "cheap" in Dusty.

^ I love that line too, but maybe it's because I have red hair. I usually listen to everything on my iPod but it was dying so I instead was listening to BOTT on my Mp3 player and wow the difference is amazing.

"I don't care if you don't care" part of Knocked Up where Caleb gets all sassy. Jared singing "You kick the bucket," especially in the video. The infamous trani scream. when Caleb whispers in Crawl Everything about Milk The end of Slow Night, So Long

I've missed this thread. Glastonbury 08 version of Knocked Up - Matt plays his harmonics just before the last verse a tiny bit too long/Caleb comes in a few seconds too early and they overlap

^Kind on similar to that, I always love how Matt changes his parts ever so slightly in the live versions of songs. Like the little bits he adds in the verses of Fans, and tons of subtle differences in his solos and stuff. When I saw them this year he added a little improv to Use Somebody and I was stoked that he was having fun

I fucking love this thread. I just read through from page one and had to listen to all the little nuances. So awesome... Here are my faves: When Caleb sings "And it's cold, and it's cold, and it's cold when you're near..." in The Runner. The way his voice sounds on that just sends shivers down my spine. I have to turn it up ALLLLL the way whenever that part comes on. This has def been mentioned earlier, but the building up of the bass in Arizona after "Shake hands" - I feel like my heart wells up like the Grinch whenever I hear that part!! When Nate beats his drumsticks together at the beginning of Trani. Especially when I see it live. It's like I know what awesomeness is about to be brought my way and I just can't control myself. If that song ever comes on in the car, everyone knows to shut the hell up. I also love when Caleb changes Trani a little bit when they do it live...like there's a pause before he says "sound" that's there's not in the studio version. ("blowin' white noise *pause* sound") I could gush on and on about how fucking awesome Trani is live, but I digress. Ok that's all I can think of now. *Goes off to listen to Trani Bonnaroo '04*

i'm going crazy everytime i hear nathans drums in the beginning of 'taper jean girl'. this song is one of their BEST ever!!! if it starts when i'm in my car i start jumping in the seat and i play jareds bass line on the wheel and then i count "1...2...1 2 3 4!" like caleb sometimes does when they play this song live and then i shake everything that i have there's a live version from the Washington D.C. booklet (from 2004 or 2005 i believe) and during matts guitar solo in TJG caleb sings "oh oh ooohoooh" and it sounds soooo cooooool. my fucking favourite song from this band EVER!!!! ^ iirc that was at the start of Milk. And yea, I loved all of Matt's smiley faces on the dvd as well. oh i love matts face when caleb is thanking their mom for being there and then the camera goes on matt and matt is looking in calebs/jareds direction and it looks like he's saying "mommy" and he smiles sooooo cute! oh and i also love in 'dusty' pretty much in the middle, almost end of the song, when caleb sings 'but i can't find no place or nuttin, where thrills are cheap and love is divine!!" i believe caleb's saying YEAH and nathan does AH! in the background, i love that part. another edit (sorry i'm gonna rape this thread ) does anybody remember those beautiful live videos on youtube from Roskilde 2008? they all look so pretty and caleb is holding a little speach and thanks the crowd and he takes a sip from his cup (of beer probably) and then he looks a little bit disgusted and holds his hand as if the cup was really sticky. that looks so cute

That last bit at the end of the runner when the backing vocals kick in. It's so hauntingly beautiful.

I love how Caleb says ‘birthday’ in ‘Birthday’! I know he says it like any other humanoid would but I think it’s the way it sounds that does it for me. Haha it really is the little things!

^^ ooh good one!
i like birthday near the beginning where the guitars start copying each other for a while, then go off and start doing their own amazing things. This is really silly but it reminds me of maybe a parent and a little kid, and the parent does something and the kid copies it, you know? haha anyway i like that.
Also during pyro where caleb sings "watch her roll, can you feel it?" has sort of a live sound to it don't you think? It's such a soft song but so powerful, I love that.
