Fun little game here. Yesterday I recently started to think that sometimes what makes a KOL song so good (album-wise) is that little extra something like the shutting of the door in "Knocked Up" or the echoing sound of "We hang even into the ocean" on "Ragoo". So how's about listing your top 3 or 5 favorite littlest things from a song. Please tell me I'm not crazy and I'm not the only one who's ever considered this.
Here's mine:
3. Caleb's "NO, NO, NO, NAH" around the end of "Genius". Around the 2:16 mark. 2. The wailing on "Knocked Up". I get shivers every time they do that "ooh whoa whoa oh oh." lol 1. Around the 1:26 mark in "Charmer" there's like this little sound the bass makes. At first, I thought it was Caleb saying "ooh!" HaHa.
Now show me I'm not the only dork who loves little things the boys do on their songs. I really admire that they record live for the most part because it's always things like that (to me at least) that really make their songs unique.

The beginning of Camaro, where Caleb starts to sing 'She looks so cool in her new Camaro' and then it sounds like the rhythm slightly changes, and it goes a bit slower and then he sings 'it's black as coal ...' I love that part .

I love it when Caleb sings, "kiss me" in Taper Jean Girl, "whorehouse Arizona" in Arizona and when he goes nuts in the last chorus of Joe's Head. I'm sure I'll think of more...

1. During 'The Bucket', it's better to see on the video, but near the end Caleb makes this little extra niose when he sings faaalliiinggg (it's at 2.10) 2. During Holy Roller Novocaine at 2.53 when they all start clapping, I think you can see them doing it here - www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwnQRVC5Ic8&feature=related if anyone's interested. 3. Spiral staircase at 2.28 when they all start saying stuff in mexican or some other language.

1. The way Caleb says "She has problems with drinking milk" in Milk. Especially the "has" part.
2. The way Caleb sings the whole second verse, and all of the Ohs, in True Love Way.
3. And I love all of the guitar parts in Ragoo. They send chills up my spine...Especially during the chorus.

"We hang even into the ocean" eh? Yeah, my booklet says "we hang even into the ocean". At first I thought it said "we ain't even been to the ocean" but I checked it. It could be wrong though as I often buy my CDs from a local place that'll sometimes sell you bootlegs too.

Totally agree. I just pretend to know what they're saying which makes road trips with KOL playing loud in the car that much better. Me: "Good time for rolos!" (singing King of the Rodeo) Friend: "Are you sure that's what they're saying?" Me: "Oh yeah. That's definitely what they're saying!" Friend: "Are you positive?" Me: "Of course. When is it never a good time for Rolos!!" Rolos. Always a good time.

Woah! I've been contemplating starting a thread of this nature for a while now. My mind has been read!
I love how you can faintly hear Jared's bass rattling the snare drum in the intro to Razz and I just KNOW they're all in the same room recording it live.
And 1:29 in Fans where right after Caleb sings "Don't be scared that you can't make a sound" Matt chimes in with his guitar like he's answering him.
And the way Caleb sings "Sex show" In Spiral Staircase.
And in Molly's Hangover, how it sounds so lazy and chilled, especially between 1:58 and 2:12 where Matt's leads sound kinda not quite finished and just hang there like it's too hot for him to bothered finishing them.
And in Trani in Day Old Belgian Blues where right at the end you hear a thump and you know Caleb's just slammed the mic stand down.
And... and...... ooohhhhhhh..... there's so much to love!

Yeah Happy Alone, the way Caleb sings "They're gonna find our song" and the "Come on Caleb, Caleb, Caleb, Caleb, CALEB!" I love it!
The way it took me many years to figure out what Caleb's singing in the verses of "Wasted Time" and "Spiral Staircase"
Oh and about that Charmer thing, I always thought it was Caleb making a noise as well until I saw them doing it live >.<
Gotta love the backing vocals on The Runner and the chorus of Trunk.
The noise Caleb makes in Pistol of Fire...
