Well many a year ago (summer 2003 I think) my best friend told me about her new most favorite band in the whole world. Suprisingly I grew to like them. I'd hated most of her most favorite bands in the whole world before then. But I'm still around after all these years

It was when I was only playing 70's music for about 2 months. It's an annual thing I go through. I was listening to the Allman Bros. and my friend interrupted: "You know who sounds better and looks sexier than the Allman Bros.?" You get what happened next. My ears were opened to a better kind of Rock 'N' Roll. I've praised KOL's music from then on.

haha I shall answer my own question... For me, I was pretty much bored one night on a couple of Strokes sites reading articles and stuff and I kept reading that a band called Kings of Leon toured with The Strokes. So it gave me a bit of curiosity but for awhile I didn't think anything of it. Then one day I came across a download of Molly's Chambers on a random site and I thought to myself "Oh look theres that band that toured with The Strokes!" So I downloaded it and automatically listened to it. From the first second of hearing Molly's Chambers I fell in love. And i'm still in love with KOL!

I first hear them on the radio (it was XFM), Molly's chambers was being played constantly and i really liked it, then the video came out and i got a bit scared ( i was younger then) the whole image and the southern accent, gave me shivers, but i just had an instant liken to them. I had mentioned it to my friends and none of them had heard of them.. and believe it or not, most people that i talk to about music are still not familiar with KOL. and i seem to be the only girl amongst my friends that actually knows and likes their music most of them seems to be boys

I HATED them at first! I thought it was all about the image and that it all seemed so CONTRIVED. Their whole image was like "who are these guys trying to be?" I then started hearing The Bucket on the radio and TV and was cross cos I found it really catchy and didn' really want to like it and have to change my mind, but, my best friend Emily said they were great - whose music taste I value - and my husbands friend at work lent him ASH and I reluctantly gave it a go and listened to it once, then listened to it straight away all the way through again which I NEVER do and immediately fell in love. Then went and bought the first album and was totally smitten.

"this is not the strokes.............but DAMN its good". the rest is history

i was flattered that they wrote a song with my name in, so felt i should support them in all their pursuits! so i bought that nme with them looking fucking cool in it with the rifles and vintage t-shirts in the park(poster still on my wall ha!) read the interview and was immediately a fan. went and bought youth and young manhood and when i first heard it was like "jesus what the hell is wrong with his voice?", but gave it another go and the rest is history

Was really into the Strokes. Read that they were touring with a band called Kings of Leon. Had never heard of them before, but I figured that if they were touring with the Strokes they had to be good; so I decided to check them out. Turned out to be wise

I heard them mentioned on MTV2 somewhere and something about their name intrigued me. So I listened to some stuff and I loved it! So good to boogie to. So I bought youth and young manhood and that's been me sorted ever since!!

It seems like The Strokes played a bit of a role in the success of the Kings. The Strokes made KOL gain quite a few fans! I don't think I would even know who KOL was without The Strokes, which is pretty scary.
