I only saw Thrice, Wolfmother, Sam Roberts and The Strokes. I really wanted to see The Raconteurs but I was way too hungry so I basically ditched V-Fest to eat. V-Fest was amazing!I'm from Ajax! whoooa so did i i wanted to stay for broken social scene but i started class the next day... and i was dead tired i blame the wolfmother crowd for that

i was looking for some new music and i read a small article about them in a music mag. the next time i went to a record shop i picked cds of all the bands i rememered reading about - and now guess which cd i bought - youth and young manhood !!!- though it was the most expensive one (17.99 Euro)! it was love on first hear. at home i put it into my cd-player and my younger sister was like "eek, what´s that? that voice is horrble, it sounds even worse than zz top!" ususally the bands she doesn´t like become one of my favourites

I was watchin Top Of The Pops about 2 - 2 half years ago (UK music show) in bed, it was quite late so it might of been a repeat. They wer playin 4 kicks and i was absoloutely amazed by the voice, especially "You with your switchblade posse, I'll get my guns from south, We'll take to the yard like a cock fight, 4 kicks whos struttin now?" i couldnt get them out of my head for the weeks. Then i was workin on a house (im a roofer) and the customer asked what music i like "mainly rock music" i said. We started naming bands and then he said three golden words, KINGS OF LEON, my eyes lit up and my mouth just fell open. I told him i loved them but havent got any of their albums, so he kindly sorted me out with Aha Shake Heartbreak then i got YAYM a couple of weeks later. The video i saw of 4 kicks on Top of The Pops has vanished, i have searched for it a million times but got nowhere, if you come across it then please tell me.

It was 2003 and I had a Faculty friend, Joseph (I was studying Political Sciences back then o.0) who came home once (I was living alone with a friend back then........god! so many things have changed, f*ck!) and anyway he said, "you know the Kings of Leon?", I said "no" and he gave me their cd, and after listening to it, like a week later I went down and bought it, and that's it, not very much of an anecdote haha, but I remember trying to look something about them on the net, and it was like there wasn't a lot of things like now, there was almost nothing... I remember I listened to them for a year without even knowing what their faces looked like 'cause in the album you couldn't see much either, and here we don't get much of KOL's videos as well and I never looked for them again, till like a year after that.
