1. kol are notttt mainstream by any standards. yes, ever since BOTT came out, a KOL concert does consist of MANY 15 year olds who go there to scream 'i love u caleb, etc etc'.. however. i can assure you that the two sold out sydney shows i went to werent anything like that. sure there were some, but i promise the majority of the venue was filled with non-teeny bopper- like individuals. in fact, i bet all of their shows were like that. u know what? KOL gets played on ONE radio station here (JJJ) in sydney, and im sure its the similar every where else in the world and something i would like to tell you - 90% of mainstream bands suck. the bands that werent mainstream and became mainstream continue to produce genius records. e.g. arctic monkeys now get a lot of radio play and they still rule, same with snow patrol. 2. u say u like 15 or so KOL songs - dude, i bet u like more, and i seriously cant figure out how the hell u got the impression that their music sounds like everything else. when i first heard KOL when i was about 14, i thought what the hell is this shit. its so damn different . but then thats why they grew to become one of my all time favourite bands... just like a lot of other people. oh and seeing as they ARENT mainstream(not that theres much wrong with being mainstream), it took me about 6 months to notice to how god damn good looking they are; seeing as they NEVER get played on tv. I'm 15  Though - I'm not a teenybopper  |
