tbird is a vry hard bass to get used to because the neck is very long, but the sound is amazing... im still not quite sure what are the best and most comfortable strings yet though, atm i am using d'addario prosteel regulars, i'm thinking about switching to mediums. any suggestions anyone?

Another thing about T-birds that sucks is the neck dive. Let it go and BANG! Down the neck goes right to the floor.
No clue about strings, though.

Well, my brother's got that problem. That's why he had to modify it so that if he let go when he's not playing, the neck wouldn't go down.

pretty much all epiphones have some blanceing issues. thats a main differece between epi and gibson. one thing you can do to modify and epi ( if its that big a deal to you) is put a belt weight on the strap and move it down to where the strap attaches to the back of the body.. those weights are made for scuba diving belts but work fine for this.

Larrikin.. starting off on a Gibson?! S'what I call the sweet life. I've been trundling away on a bloody Stagg for 3 years. Also agree with quelquefois. I interpreted it as a positive thing. OH! And string-wise, I've used Rotosound for many years. After trying various other brands, I can safely say they're the most comfortable I've tried. If you can get some, I'd highly recommend. Don't go for anything too chunky, mind. And if you're still having trouble, go get some string lube. Fingerease is alright.
