I only say that because it doesn't make any sense to insult someone and then call them killer at what they do and say they hold up the band.
Who knows?

I miss Jared's old red gibson, I wanted one for the longest time, and the bass player from los lonely boys (I really don't like their music, but they kick ass live, must admit) has this gorgeous 6-string, I dunno what it is though

Old Skool Bass Guitars - simple, but brilliant Steinberger Headless Bass. (I wont be caught dead playing it - but it does have a charm to it) Fender Precision Bass (the Bass Guitar that changed the world) Gibson Thunderbird

i have a black t-bird (gibson not epiphone) and i don't think you could ask for a better guitar, combined with d'addario steel regulars the sound is sweet. I am only a beginner and learning on a t-bird is quite difficult as the neck is very long so I am hoping i will become good quick and jared is an insperation, whoever doesnt rate him should go elsewhere with music...

The fender precision will forever hold a place in my heart. Playing one of those babies inspired me to continue with my bass.. Unfortunately I only have my lovely Ibanez GSR200, but it's a beast for that part of the market, I must say.

What's the difference between the Gibson t-bird and the Epiphone t-bird?

Yeah, actually. I'm gonna answer my own question after talking about it with a friend.
Gibson licenses Epiphone to create almost identical versions of some of their original models. The price difference is humongous. While a Gibson sells for about $1,800, I think, an Epi sells for $300 or some. I don't quite remember.
I still don't get what contributes to the price gap, though. I know that Gibsons are made completely from Mahogany, neck and body. The Epiphones are made from Maple and Alder. The only thing that bothers me about that is that I know that Alder is a really lightweight wood while Mahogany tends to be on the thick side. I don't know anything about trees and wood and all that, but it could be that Mahogany is hard to find or grow or find pixies in or what have you.
I could go on, but I'll spare you.
One more thing, though, Epiphone's are not at all bad in quality. They're amazing quality basses. Obviously for $500 more dollars the Gibson has to be spectacular.
Other than that I'd have to actually play them both to compare and actually ask a vendor or something to understand.
Fin!

Right. The Gibson is a one-piece. Take those four bolts off the neck of the Epiphone t-bird and off the body it goes!
According to my friend, the Gibson has more sustain and resonation. There we go! Answers!

I've never been into Ibanez basses, but I've always wanted a neck through bass...and I think their's are some of the nicer ones. Thunderbirds look good, but I don't like the feel of them.
I have a Fender Precision and I like it. I have ridiculously small hands, so the bass is difficult for me no matter what. I almost want to get a child's bass or one of those beginner's packages...the quality would be shit, but atleast I could play without pain until I've mastered it. I guess I'll just have to keep looking, it took me awhile to find a regular guitar that worked for me, but I have an Epiphone acoustic and an Ibanez electric that I love more than life itself.
However, my real baby is my bassoon.
