Happy Alone
On our way, so it seems,
Obviously the beginning of a journey, whether its an actual trip or a drug trip or whatever.
blooming flowers waltz before me
Now the idea of dancing flowers could possibly be just setting a happy scene, or maybe hallucinogenic inspired. But there is another option which is slightly more out of the box, but follow me anyway. Later Caleb says "i love to watch you when youre dancing" probably to a girl. This flower could actually be aa girl he is with or thinkin about. ( Also when a girl loses her virginity its called "deflowering" her, so just maybe Caleb has more on his mind than a Tulip.)
Rollin' numbers, passing time,
got to get outside the city,
Maybe literally rolling dice, or just a metaphor for this in between period of the trip....?
In the morning all will see, just how crazy young love can be
Maybe he has an announcement of this "love" or feels like he has to prove something. Maybe hes talking about gettin laid, and boasting about it. Who knows?
On our own, away again, don't get down my darlin'
More lines about the journey, maybe he wants his companion to be happy and not "down". Or it could be a reference to the down period of using drugs, so as he needs to get/smoke more.
I'm gonna tangle my face hair, I’m gonna tickle your daughter
Announcin his plans to the world, or possibly literally to the girls parents or loved ones about their reckless adventure ahead. The line about facial hair and tickling could be a reference to him performing oral sex on his compnion and it having a ticklin sensation.
3 o'clock in the mornin' they all cry to me,
Late nights, "cry" could be any sexual related noise.
I'll be prancin' around in my high heels and your cherry red lipstick,
Look out your window i'm on your street
Showing just how crazy this trip will be (or was), to someone who seems to have a shocked reaction of some sort.
Miles away, so unclear, almost lost it in Montana
THe fact thats its unclear makes me thing of drugs. What was lost could be actually losing his "stash" of marijuana or whatever, love, virginity, or maybe losing his mind.
Lets pull over, have us a choke
I think this is probably oral sex, because of the choke reference. Or possibly just to smoke, because of the somewhat choking a cigarette or joint could have on ones lungs.
I love to watch you when your dancin'
If the oral sex line is right, he maybe refering to him watching her perform it upon him.
I wonder if they ever dream,
They would get just what we gave them
No clue here.......
All wrapped up in being nineteen,
Chasin' stars that are fallin'
Just enjoying his youth and excitement
When that train heads home,
They're gonna be so gone gone, you aint ne’er gonna see me
Maybe he feels someone is after him, maybe drug inspired paranoia.
Im a-gone gone, you aint nothin’ to me
When they shine them streets, they're gonna find our song
This proably similar to the previous, finding our song might mean finding some record of his trip.
