Ok i cant think of any cool irish bands that have been around for awhile..im not gona say U2 as 99.9% of the people here dont like them... ok thin lizzy is the only one that springs to mind...  |

I think YAYM had a lot of easy catchy guitar riffs kinda like the Beatles which made it so appealing.

There's no right answer or wrong answer to this.
People can have their own opinions whats good music to you might be utter shit to the next person. It just depends on your preference.
personally I like all different kinds of music, I'm open minded.
What's with the dispute on weither the USA or the UK have been home to the most good bands? Does it even matter? Personally I couldn't give two shits about where a band is from. If I like the music I like the music. I tend not to concentrate on where they are from.
P.S Why are people always so concerned with music genres? I'm crap at telling most genre's apart. except for the obvious. I don't take into account what type of music a certain song is. If I like it. I like it. Some people are like "This song is good but, I can't like it because it's pop/punk, and people might think I'm a poser"

early beatles yeah? that stuff definitely is really poppy, but i wouldnt say later beatles stuff is. like revolution for example. but then it was popular so was 'pop' but you mean like pop pop, dont you?

well they were 'pop' at the time, so popular and stuff. and listen to early stuff. rubber soul=pop! do you know what i mean?
i love that album so much. i dont think pop was meant as an insult anyway.

When thinking about it you have to remove yourself of the bad connotations we now have with pop music, or popular music, and realize that the beatles where the most popular band of their time, the reason for this is that they were extremely good. Ironic yes, but they were pop. |
