I didnt really find it all that great. Listening to Radioactive or Sex on Fire for the first time was incredible. This is so apathetic. Its like they are trying to be Queens of the Stoneage.
This would have been a B side on CAS.

I guess music is subjective and it's all about personal taste, but personally I never found Sex on fire or Radioactive 'incredible' even though I like them a lot. But I really love this new song, It sounds very promising. Many people complained that KOL's music has become MOR since OBTN and now they are "rocking" again, people still complain. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. And beside this is a new song but we don't even if it will be the new single, so let's not judge before having all the cards.

Took the words right out of my mouth Helene! I fully agree ... people will always complain. I for me like KOL rockier than they were on OBTN and CAS (which I still liked though) so I am pleased by this new song as I think they are going in a direction I will like. I am majorly excited and cant wait to hear more during this summer!

Things I like - Its heavier which is good. Matt's solo is cool.
Things I dont like - Rhythm guitar sounds very monotonous with the same few chords playing over and over. Vocals sound very repetitive.
Come on kol! I want funky bass lines, intricate guitars and crazy ass lyrics that will never make sense but sound fucking awesome.

Ok, feel free to fill in the blanks
Such a smile ----- Leave like a wine (whine ?) But it don't matter to me
Take your time before I burn But it don't matter to me
Let's pave the way---------- But it don't matter to me I could fall ( ?)----------------- But it don't matter to me Cos' it's always the same And I'm always the same
Uncle Sam they ----- bad man It don't matter to me I don't know where I am gonna go But it don't matter to me
You agree to spend my----- It don't matter to me Cos' it's always the same And I am always the same
I am not a man, everybody say But it don't matter to me I better be on my seat But It don't matter to me
I beg my heart, tell me why it don't matter to me no no
I put a shine in your eye It don't matter to me Cos it's always the same And I am always the same
Pretty sure of what I picked up apart from the lyrics with the dotted line, feel free to correct me.

I like it, but then again, I'm so starved and parched for some new KoL music right now, I'll take it. Caleb's voice sounds awesome and Nathan too on backing vocals and Matty's guitar tone is music to my ears. Thanks for posting, Erin!
I'm off to listen to it again :-)

I was pretty bummed, that the Napa Valley Bottlerock fetival didnt live-stream KOL and instead went with Ben Harper and an old guy. KOL really got cheated out of some good publicity with their new song and BH was really repetition and boring. If i heard their new song through a live feed, instead of through somebody's smart phone, I'm sure I would be raving about it too. Now that I have listened to it like 5 times, I can definitely take back what I said earlier. IT ISN'T JUST OKAY, IT IS ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD. SADLY, THIS MIGHT BE THE BEST I'VE HEARD THIS YEAR, BUT I STILL PREFER SONGS ON CAS OVER THIS. Its pretty good and I am excited to see where Nate and Caleb go on this. Nate is drumming better than ever and Caleb seems to have his voice back and has gotten through those 2012 hiccups. Matt's solo was mediocre at best. He shredded in BOTT, but not on that. Jared is on a positive spiral too.

To clarify --- it was KOLs management who didnt give permission to the livestream broadcast company. I am in contact with the broadcast company via kolanblog. And they kept us up to date on the matter. However, KOL management is currently editing the video and audio of the Bottle Rock recording and it will be released as an online stream in the next few weeks I was told. I am sure though if we get to see some official footage after all that the new song wont be part of it.
Our next hopes are on Hangout Fest - mtv.com will stream that live. And surely KOL management cant say no to MTV.

It sounded pretty good live, but I wasn't blown away by it. I liked the energy, but I am not a fan of endless repetitive lyrics--'to be there, to be there' or 'don't knock it, don't knock it'-- and this one was definitely super repetitive. The melody was an amalgamation of other songs I've heard before, but I liked it more than the lyrics. The crowd seemed to have liked it. People around us were dancing to it.

I agree with you Dani, I almost never understand what Caleb singing, but I love new song, I cant stop to hear it, and well Nik, IO think almost all bands their song sound as theyself, I dont know if you understand me, but I only need a second for know if a song is PJ or TBK etc, suppose is the same with KOL, almost all is invented yet, but I say again I LOVE THIS SONG, i dont know if is because I was starving KOL new songs, but it is in my head since I hear first time excited for new songs

I'd love to hear a few more songs just to get a better idea of the album. This song so far doesn't tell me much. It could've been on any of their past albums.

This song is southern and a little sexy. Caleb has been taking care of that haunting, singular voice of his. Can't wait for the rest! Oh and Matt should always have a solo cause he's a sick guitarist.
