I'm confused about how to read your post, Rex. Are you trying to lecture me about those songs being pop-rock (something I already said myself) or do you agree with me, just adding 'down right' to put emphasis on it? (I'm not trying to make you look bad, I'm genuinely wondering how you meant it.)
I definitely prefer them to rock properly, than to put out radio friendly pop-rock. No Money (and Celebration) are my faves off CAS. What I really hope is that they put out something that's fresh and enthusiastic, kinda like the first two albums, but with 10 years' worth of knowledge of what works both in recording & playing live.
It's a shame Jared doesn't do his Listen-tweets anymore, cos that would give an idea of where his mind's at musically, and with that a possible indication of where KOL's music is leaning towards.

I gave up on theese guys a long time ago, but still interested in the train wreck their career became due to the pop success. I see its still off the tracks, and honestly can't imagine a revival, do you really believe there will be a #6? Seems like they are stringing along the few that have held on.

Thanks for scanning the article! Karma for you next time I'm online, as the app doesn't have that option.

The comment about it being a mix of YAYM and BOTT is just about enough to get me interested in this again

Well I am a bit bummed about the September release, I had somehow persuaded myself it would be out much sooner than that, ha. As for the BOTT & YAYM mix, it sounds great but if I remember well Nathan and his predictions for the last album didn't turn out to be really true so I don't know how to take Jared's hints. But I am excited nonetheless.

Karma for the article, Helene, and I am very excited too and my fingers are crossed for an album that's along the lines of YAYM and BOTT.

Didn't Nate say that CAS was a beach album? Cos I actually agree with that. I do hope they're not just saying its a YAYM/BOTT cross to get more people (old fans) interested. But the cowbell, handclaps & 161 bpm tweets make it all sound very promising!

Thank you, Helene for posting the article I don't think, they would tell, new album will be a mix between YAYM and BOTT, if it wasn't, 'cause they always acting honest. I can't wait to hear the new stuff, sounds so exciting.

"Going for some pretty interesting sounds on this record" as per Jared Nate might not want to say Happy Birthday to me on Twitter, but I'm happy with the Matt-offerings today. Look at how cute he is! twitter.yfrog.com/nem65hrbafmrjmjnwrkxnvrfz

So everything that's been said on twitter and in articles is making me very excited about this album. I can't remember whether they've said things like this about the last two albums though- like them being akin to BOTT or YAYM. I don't think they did. And Erin i agree- CAS is a perfect summer/bbq/beach album. I love it. Anyhow i really can't wait to hear some of this new stuff. September is a long way away.

I'm pretty sure they'll be trying out some of the new songs at the upcoming gigs, like they did with the CAS songs too. (I think Nate also said something like it last week.) And the first gig is in about 3 weeks already..! I hope Napa Valley has a live stream, but as it's the first time that festival takes place, they might not do that (yet). However, surely someone's gonna film it with their phone, no?

True- i'm sure they will play stuff live and there will be recordings put up on youtube but i prefer to wait for the official releases. Hearing new songs on bad quality camera videos isn't my thing. I'm old fashioned, in that i love the whole anticipation and build up to a new album/film and i try to avoid hearing songs that haven't been released/reading spoilers or scripts of movies. So unless the boys release some home videos or the concert recordings have amazing audio it's most likely i won't be listening to them. I'll read what other people on here think of them though!

Pinkpop, Werchter & Rock am Ring/Rock in Park always have good quality live streams, though I'm not sure (by heart) if they play the German fests. And Nate just tweeted that they're rehearsing and learning to play the new songs live.

quote from Rolling Stone's instagram with a Caleb's pic "Here's #CalebFollowill working on the #KingsofLeon's upcoming sixth album in their Nashville studio. "I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I'm amazed how youthful it sounds," Jared Followill said recently. this sound as heaven for my ears , every day more excited

A certain Bob Waugh tweeted earlier today that he's heard 3 songs of the new album and claims "they're back with a vengeance."
He also mentioned that the album will drop September 13th, and first single Supersoaker will be released on July 13th. I cannot wait!!
Thanks Lyanne for retweeting Bob's tweet.

Isn't it a bit premature to announce the new single on behalf of the band ? Anyway it gets me all excited, july is not that far. I am a little suspicious when I hear people say 'their new stuff is great' it's only their opinions and someone else may not feel the same thing. But I digress, I can't wait to hear about new songs they might play this summer. On a lighter note when I read the new single is called supersoaker I immediately started singing Abba Super trooper in mind, it has the same number of syllables.

Last night at Napa Valley's Bottlerock the guys played (only ) one new song, but god damn, it's a killer!! (Again, thanks to KOLfanblog for tracking it down so quickly.) It's been labeled Always The Same, but I kinda hope that this is the song that's gonna be first single Supersoaker. After all, Radioactive doesn't have the title in the song either.
