OH my someone read my mind! I was going to start this exact same thread! I was going to ask about what you study/where you work........
I am currently laid off and still searching for a job. I used to be in the finance industry - I am licensed with my Series 7 to trade stocks, bonds and options. I am thinking I want to get out of finance. I'd love to be a personal assistant, a la Jennifer Hudson in the Sex and the City movie. That would be fun. I'd love to get some suggestions too, Queen of the Rodeo.... what did you do before?

Seeing as it's my only source of income - I'm a musician. I've also been a teacher in the past, but I didn't taken on any new students after the last bunch finished though, since I'm moving away from Ireland in a couple of weeks time.
I don't make enough to support myself, so I'm going to go on the hunt for a job, but someday I hope I can do music full-time.

My mom was a piano teacher, hence, the reason I've played piano since I was 4..........

ah, my brother is a primary school teacher. He is having a hard time "fitting in" to the right school. and yes, I can relate to the degree.... my degree is in french literature, but here I am, unemployed out of the financial industry. Geez, my spanish is better than my french at this point in my life....

ooh Sean, did you teach music? My mom was a piano teacher, hence, the reason I've played piano since I was 4.......... Of course! I got my Grade 8 early last year, so I gave private lessons teaching complete beginners up to Grade 3. I had 6 students at one time, which gave me enough money to make my own way through college (although it was never quite enough to pay the rent, so Mam would make up the difference at the end of the month). Absolutely exhausting work though, especially since I had college work to do too. Making money from music would be great....where are you moving to? London.

i have a masters in marriage and family therapy so essentially i'm a therapist. right now i just moved to TN to start a new job as a crisis counselor so i take crisis calls when someone is suicidal, homicidal, both, or other mental health related problems and decide if they need to be hospitalized or removed from their home. not my dream job and not my dream location (despite living in close proximity to the followills!) but there are no jobs in the midwest right now and i couldn't sit around my mom's house forever! i'd rather have Ruth's job and get paid to watch boys all day!

I am the director of international Human Resources in a huge company. I do very little, mostly sit in meetings and "strategize" In April I should be getting my MBA. I have a Masters in Medieval History too, as well as a Bachelors in Foreign Languages and International Relations. I am also a chef and a baker, and eventually, I'd like to open up my own place, and a bar.

Everybody has such interesting lives! I'm a first year university student, on my way through a Bachelor of Biomedical Science majoring in Molecular Pharmacology and Medicinal Chemistry (yes, I have used that line at parties ). It sounds fancy-schmancy, it's really just chemistry, biology, statistics, psychology and pathology. Ideally I'd love to do post-graduate work, hopefully overseas, and either become a doctor (diagnostic rather than surgical) or a researcher / drug developer. But in the meantime I work in a bakery, and teach ballet/jazz to five year olds. My hair smells like pie 99% of the time.

Everyone has such interesting jobs! I have a bachaelor of education with psychology and was a primary school teacher for three years but quit at the end of last year and now I'm working at the local income support office (centrelink for Aussies ) I totally agree about teaching being stressful and that is why I left but over the last few months I have really started to miss it and I'm thinking about going back. I don't know I'm kinda confused about what I want to do!!

Oh this is a cool thread! SEAN! moving to Londres - wooo! : ) god haven't been on here in yonks.. anywhooo I am a Commerce student and have three more years til i finish my degree. However, I work three days a week at the International Airport making coffee Although i hate some of the people i work with (but that comes with every job i think), i love the tourists (esp the hot ones haha!) and all the hotties who work at the airport.. cause a lot of them excessively drink coffee to stay awake (shift work.. ugh), i get to see a lot of the guys i rate on a weekly basis. Yes, i am a MAJOR perve.. goodlooking men are like nice pieces of artwork, what can i say? I was just watching Border Security.. when I am old and sick of my career, I'll go back to the airport and do customs or quarantine..
