^ Seeing how the Grammys are an annual thing, only songs from the past year are nominated.
I wonder though; if Use Somebody hadn't been played the hell out of, would you all despise it too/still? I for one love that song.

^They can't go back to their other albums.....that's not what the Grammys are about. It has to be a song that was released this year.

^I love it too Erin.....I'm still a big fan of OBTN even though it's not popular to admit that. I do understand why people dislike it though.

I actually seriously just dislike this song. I hardly listen to the radio anyway, so i cant say that i've been so overwhelmed by it being played everywhere. I think it's the chorus, the "uuu aaaa"s that really, really annoy me! I admit that i like both SOF and Notion more than US. So i have such a hard time being excited for this song to be nominated for anything.
Hope they win "Best Rock Band" or something like that.

Fair enough if you never liked it much, but I mean the people who are hating on it because it's been played so much. You know, the people that'll cross their arms at gigs when it's played when they've been rocking out to the rest of the set. (excl. sof too, ofc )

I know they can give nominations only to the last record.
but I think it's ridiculous that they're giving this song this recognition, when compared to their back catalogue US is pretty crappy if you ask me.
They're giving an award to US - hopefully, because they're always one of my fave bands- and they never noticed ,say, Trani... the whole ceremony loses credibility in my eyes.
even on OBTN are better tracks than US- see Closer and Cold Desert.
It sounds like an MTV awards choice, Grammys should be a different thing.

And here is an article about NATHAN chatting about the nominations -> I just say "CALEB dancing in his briefs" is mentioned LOL -> don't get distracted by the talk about Jared in the first part! accesshollywood.com/_article_26244

^Jared sure is having fun lately huh? “He’s probably jumping up and down in his underwear with a bottle of red wine and celebrating the two nominations that we got,” Nathan told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson before calling his blue-eyed sibling in front of Access’ cameras. ^ I would pay a ridiculous amount of money to see this!!!

I see where you're coming from, and I agree that it's hardly the best thing they've ever done by a long shot, but they can't give awards to Closer, Cold Desert etc. Not because they were on last year's album, but because they were never singles. Popularity can suck, but nothing will get an award it nobody knows it... Unfair, especially when it comes to absolute gems of songs, like all the old stuff, but I guess that's just the way showbiz works... Thanks for the interview, it sounds hilarious and I'll enjoy it as soon as my laptop decides it wants to open new windows and not just constantly load them

Yep, that's why I don't really consider the Grammys that much different than every other award show. If the first 3 albums would have been more popular here in the States than maybe their best work would have been nominated. It sucks but that's just how it is in the music industry these days.
