Wow, the response to this is so interesting to read through! I thhink there are so many points on this that are very valid, e.g. the fact that when you listen to your early work it pales in comparison to your current stuff, I was watching an interview someone posted in Share Stuff right now, and this pretty much illustrates part of my point. I know that Matt loves to play live, but what I'm saying when I write his heart isnt in it is clear to see in this interview. I ddnt even know he was there until the second part because he doesn't say anything and so he's not in the shot, but the whole time he just sits there playing on his phone. Even when they start talking about the new album which people on here say he is excited about he just looks over, and they have to make a joke to cover the awkwardness whenn they try but fail to get him to say anything, anyway maybe I'm blowing everything out of proportion, hre's the video if anyone wants to see...: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEg8OZOnoxw&feature=relatedp.s. I feel I must take back most of the stuff I said about Jared because you all made such good points, and seeing in this interview and the others I have watched with him since I posted, he seems so lively and how everyone described him. A naivety on my part! Yep, this is the interview i was talking about. But later on in the extended part (audio only), Matt suddenly comes to life when they start talking about cars. So funny. Such a typical guy.

I agree with the first 2 posts (that's all I read cause there so long !) so there's not much else for me to add cause everyones said everything I think caleb definity spends the longest on the music he seems the most passinate and really in to it. He wants every concert to be bigger and a better than the one before. I understand jared not liking touring I'm sure it's not the funnest thing to do but it's disappointing that on stage he doesn't seem to be enjoying himself like he used to. When he changed his bass to his black one he seemed to change and I dunno seems different.
I think jared mainly has the least caring attitude towards the music they play, but I guess everyone has their own emotions and feelings and jared may not show them like caleb does... Who knows?

I reckon the band wont hold on for that much longer. Its really hard to do a job if you're not into it....although Jared might stay for the free designer clothes and the money, and of course gettin to pose for magazines etc (he loves that part of being in the band). It'll be like Metallica all over again changing the bass player every so often.

^^ to that message - the end part I does if jared does leave the band will finish, it won't be "kings of leon" if one member leaves although caleb said that if the band ever does split up he will always make music and would make more country music than the stuff their doing now

I'm sure it's very nice, they've all admitted that it is, but I'm sure if any of us were in that situation we wouldn't complain about nice clothes, cars etc. But Jared has also, especially recently, been very candid about their attitudes to fame, and he comes across as a very intelligent person who is well aware of how they are seen by many media outlets (cough the Sun cough). As to being replaceable, he's more than just a (very) pretty face! He clearly loves music, and is a very talented, integral part of the band. All 4 guys obviously have a huge part in the songwriting process. While they may be tired / overworked at the moment, this doesn't mean that they are going to stop. The Kings wouldn't be the Kings without him (or any of the others) and that's the way it will always be.
