WAS NATHAN CHEWING GUM AT THE SYDNEY SHOW!?!?!? BECAUSE IF HE WAS IT WAS MOST LIKELY THE GUM THAT WAS IN THE BOX WE GAVE TO NACHO FOR THE BOYS! waheyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Nathan was chewing BUBBLE GUM. I think it was in silver wrapper. But this was the second night. First night it was a pink Bubble Gum.

Wow. Claire... Your reviews shit on mine.
Yeah.. The crowd was 7 times better lastnigth - we had a ball (even if it meant fighting for breath while pelting out the lyrics). KOL seemed slightly more enthusiastic/ worked better with the crowd last night (not saying that they weren't amazing the night before though). I think it was probably better because I was surrounded by a couple of fanatics.
The lights for Milk were absolutely INCREDIBLE... The made me drool. I'll see if I can find a photo or the sly like 3 second video I caught - Milk is one of my favourite songs so I didn't want to spend my time videoing it!
We did wait outside for them after the show - I'd hoped that if they saw my incredibly lame "KINGS OF LEON WASSUP?" t-shirt then they would have a few chuckles but they drove past too quickly. It was incredibly nice for Jared to give us an enthusiastic wave. It must be so annoying for them to have to deal with screaming girls (I can promise you we weren't those types). Having said that though... we are making them incredibly rich! haha
I'll put up that new "Devil" song as soon as I can figure out how to. After it Caleb said something like "I don't know what the fuck that was" but I cut the recording before that because the bouncer was getting angry.
and YAY - Where did you find our photo of Nacho with us, Claire?
Anyway unless Claire beats me to it I will give a review of Saturday nights show too.

We were told by a friend of a friend who saw this big curtained off portion in a certain bar which had an event on a Wednesday night so yeah.. we rocked up and sure enough the Stills were there and then we met Nacho... Then we bailed because I don't think I really want to meet them... just grab their signatures and a photo and that would have been annoying so we left to make it a pester free night.

How come you don't want to meet em?
Did you film the 'devil' song for longer than the one that's already up? Cause it cuts off before it's done.

What is the link to the one that is already up?
Mine starts late (not too late - I was just awestruck when it happened) into it but finishes after it.

In answer to your question. I used to want to meet them but now every man and his dog has this same ambition and it would get really boring and annoying for them - like an unwanted chore. So I don't really want to be part of that chore. I'm happy with the wave we got from Jared (I was actually expecting it to be Nathan who would give us a wave so I was very happy because Jared is quite shut off in his own world during the concert which I've see quite a few bassists do before so it might just be a thing for bassists to do but at least it shows that they are devoted to playing their own music or it is very clever strategy to stop those stupid fangirls who scream at him ie. those who just want to fuck their brains out because they are strapping young lads in a band, not because they have incredible music and just want to hear their favourite band play).

Wow. Watching that video of their impromptu song makes me so excited. Fuck - brilliant. Like I don't really like their new stuff as much but this song was bloody good. I hope they play it on Saturday and add some more to it. That would be heaven.

OMG!!! Claireaye HOW did you find out which bar they were going to??? what are the chances that you picked the right one!!! Yeah like Georgie said. A friend of ours goes to this thing on Wednesdays and he turned up and part of the venue was blocked off and he heard that it was for the boys so he sent a message to another of our friends telling us to drop by. And Savanna there isn't much more to the new track. Caleb just repeats what he has already sung and then it ends.

Okay. I read georgie's post so I'll just try and fill in a few details and clear things up. Unfortunately I didn't get time to post on here last night since I had to go to bed then had to bail for uni early this morning only to head straight from uni to their other show tonight. First, let me just say they did NOT play Joe's Head. I think Georgie got a bit overexcited and made that up. But they did play California Waiting which made me unbelievably happy. Umm... I'm trying hard to think of things to add but my brain is failing me due to lack of sleep etc. Like Georgie said one of the things Caleb talked about was having read online that someone stood up and the people behind them told them to sit down - I thought this might have been Annie is a prayin' but I suppose we'll never know for sure. Last night was a lot of fun but I would say tonight's show was even better. The only thing that disappointed me was that the chick next to me on the barrier didn't sing along to anything. She might have sung to Sex on Fire but I didn't turn around to look and likewise the people behind me didn't seem to know too many songs. That said I was also near a few people who were nuts. The energy at tonight's show was intense. Caleb got everyone pretty excited by telling them the people last night were silly and didn't stand up and that it was a rock and roll concert so why was everyone sitting. Needless to say after that just about everyone stood up. People responded to the new material really well but at the same time the old stuff got a lot of support to. Highlight of the night would have to be when Caleb announced they were going to play a song that they hadn't played in a few years and that we should forgive them if they made mistakes. The song was Red Morning Light. Basically we (Georgie and I) went nuts. Everyone who we hung out with today was lovely. We made some great friends in the queue so we ensured that we all got good spots and all that jazz. We were on the barrier again - this time in front of Matt as opposed to Jared. Ooh another interesting thing that happened. Caleb left the stage and Jared took to the mic (which surprised me immensely) - he said something along the lines of 'You guys have made Caleb really excited. So excited he has to go off stage and puke but he'll be back". Very Funny. And another highlight (I just remembered) they played something new!! They played the instrumental part on the Wednesday night as well but tonight Caleb sang some lyrics (possibly off the top of his head. Its hard to tell). Fortunately georgie filmed it so I'm sure she'll post it for everyone. It was to die for. I was ridiculously excited. Anyway this is getting very, very long and I have done an awful job of explaining how the concert unfolded. I will probably write something far more coherent tomorrow when I have nothing to do at work. I got a drumstick. Its split at the top which I thought was cool. And I also got one of Matt's picks. Fuck yeah. We waited at the drive ways to see if we could meet the band. Unfortunately they didn't stop to say hi... We saw Nathan and Jessie leave together. Then in another car we saw Jared (who turned and smiled and waved to everyone which I thought was really nice), and Lily in another car (I assume Caleb and Alyssa were in that car too but I couldn't see them from my side). Some other people we spoke to said they saw Matt leaving and that he waved to them so yeah. This was all within an hour of the concert ending or so. We left at about 12:30am so I'd say to others going to other shows if you've got an hour or two to spare might as well wait it out. I'll just post a quick setlist from what I can recall. This is definitely not in the right order. They opened with Closer then Crawl and they finished with Black Thumbnail. Closer Crawl King of the Rodeo California Waiting Red Morning Light Molly's Chambers Wasted Time Four Kicks The Bucket Slow Night, So Long Taper Jean Girl Milk On Call My Party Fans Revelry Sex on Fire Knocked Up Charmer Manhattan Black Thumbnail omg that sounds like an awesome show! and you got a drumstick and pick!!! im so incrediably jealous!! i cant believe he played somthing new as well as red morning light!! i reckon if he played it in brisbane me and Annie is a prayin' and grace the kid would have died... and gone to heaven, and caleb would have been God and the others angels... AHAAHAHA lol inside jokee btw, even if we dont know exactly if the remark about sitting down was about us, id like to believe so cos we talked about it here as well as leaving comments on Jareds and Calebs myspaces. incrediably jealousss, still sounds like you had an awesome time

Hahaha. I didn't realise you guys posted it on their myspaces too. Nice.
I'm looking forward to Saturday like crazy now. They better play the new track again. I can't stop listening to it. If their next record is more like this I will be very very happy.
Haha I just remembered. One of the Roadie's wives is making some documentary about fans and she filmed us while we were waiting for the guys to come out. Funny.
