So... Thoughts on lastnights show!?!
I thought it was amazing. Claire and I made it onto barrier with very little queuing which was fantastic because I took my little brother and I didn't want to have to worry about him being battered about. He was fine and stood next to me the whole time.
I will leave Claire the glory of writing the setlist.
Kings of Leon look like gods on stage - they had total command of the stage AND the crowd. Basically a genius mix of songs. The new Album sounds fantastic in the Stadium.. EVERYONE in the crowd chanted the lyrics and got really into the new album. I can see what all the hype is about now. Well I guess it's not even hype.. It's just a good live album to play. There were 4 Y&YM songs - Molly's CHambers, California Waiting, Wasted Time and Joe's Head - I was really happy that people were chanting to those songs too - I thought there would be majority new album converts but evidently there was an even mix.
It was also really nice not to have to put up a fight for the barrier - the crowd where I was were all very respectful.
KOL also seem really taken aback by Sydney - you know they just aren't staying the stuff - they really mean it (or are genius actors).
Managed to nab Nathan's drumstick.
As we are going to the next two concerts in Sydney we'd really like to see Closer (as an opener), Trani and Soft (Soft preferably on Saturday night) SO if you are reading this.. take note.
We later went on to a bar and happened to pick the same bar as where their afterparty was - we met Nacho - a smooth man. He was PLASTERED. But very friendly. We decided not to wait for the other guys to turn up because we probably would have been star struck or something/ didn't want to be the annoying fans that get in the way of a good night. They probably didn't end up going to the location anyway and we wanted to catch public transport home because we are povo uni students. I did see a Nikki Sixx look alike though - He was pretty convincing (as a YOUNG Nikki though)
Anyway.. I'm sure other people have more interesting stories to share so ramble on....
PS. Caleb made reference to someone which was on this forum I think - he said that the person wanted to stand in their seats but the people behind them got cranky with them. Then he said something supportive/encouraging about standing up. So props to whoever wrote that comment. I think Claire said it was an "Annie" who said it.
EDIT: They didn't play Joe's Head - I had it stuck in my head... I think I must have dreamed that... Sorry!

Great show, but the crowd was dead and sitting down for the most part! apart from sex on fire and use somebody, and when caleb told everybody we are not a sit down band, they were all sitting down and pretty quiet. Hopefully some of these new fans will buy the old albums and really give the shows some life! the new stuff came across well live. Loved Cold desert, but the older stuff still goes off a lot better live. It always has. Hopefully the Sydney crowds can show the boys a bit more love in the next 2 shows than they did last night

He said that he was reading stuff on the internet.
PS. Forgot to add would love to hear I Want You too.
AND Caleb has added in hand movements with the lyrics now - they are quite different to what they were like last tour.. less rocky I guess.

Wow really? So he does lurk! Ooh new hand motions! It seems to me that they're really trying to mix things up/improve the shows. So exciting

^ Maybe that means they're trying to incorporate all these 'wish list' songs, and we'll get Arizona!

he didnt say anything about a sign. he said he was reading online somewhere (obviously here) and that someone told someone to sit down and they turned around and told them off, and he said that sort of thing shits him and "we arn't a sit down band"....it was nice he made recognition of the earlier fans.
AND they did NOT play joe's head, not sure where you got that from?
