Ok so i'm just wondering what people are looking for or thinking about for the next album. I'm not trying to get the whole "KOL are selling out" argument back up so please don't start arguing about stuff like that. I just want to know what people would like from the next album and whether the first two albums are still ranked as most people's favourites. Keep it friendly please people and if it gets argumental feel free, Gio or Blackjeans, to lock it.

I don't necessarily want any revivals. I want something new! But I will follow them no matter what.

Definitely.
I was gonna tick the 'I'll follow them no matter what' option, but that'd be a lie really. I'm not going to say I like a Kings album if I don't, just because its them. If they did a crap album I'd say so, but still like the others.
As it is, I like OBTN, but much prefer YAYM and ASH, and would love to see a similar album for #5.

i'd love them to go back to the youth and young manhood and aha shake heartbreak days it would be great but no matter what they do i'll always follow them. i do love because of the times theres some great song on there and only by the night is another good album which i liked from the start and it keeps growning on me. i'm sure the next album will be just as great in it's own way as the 4 previous albums are.

Not one person has voted OBTN as the best album. Worrying

But(just being truthful here) it's not! And i can't believe they're winning so much praise and awards for it. They deserved it so long ago.....

*Applause* You're the first major fan I've heard admit that. Bravo . I love OBTN but it's nothing compared to the other albums. Ash especially.

^^ That's weird that you've never heard that because the majority of MAJOR fans, at least those who have been vocal about it, don't like OBTN at all.

I'd hazard a guess that the type of people that believe OBTN is their best aren't the type of people who'd be posting on a KOL forum.
(apologies if you think it is, and are offended by that generalisation)

Yeah most of the big fans on here have been a bit disappointed with it but as i said i don't want to get into all of that stuff again!

I went with I'll follow them no matter what. Back to their Youth days would be amazing but I'm all for the boys trying something a little different, something even more BOTT would make me happy

I'll follow them no matter what because they are amazing song writers and musicians and every album has meant something different to me. I'd like to hear something rockier and faster for the next album. I like going mad when seeing them live and the OBTN stuff is beautiful to listen to, but not so great to jump around and rock out to at a gig.

I'd follow them whatever. Well obviously there would be some exceptions i.e. if they started churning out Cheeky Girls wannabe hits but I can safely say that is not going to happen. Like Michelle said they are amazing musicians. BOTT/ASH are my favourite albums so I guess you could say I'm sort of stuck in the middle of eras and such but I do prefer their faster songs so I would prefer a BOTTish typed record but as long as it's heartfelt and I know they've strived to perfection (which I believe they do with every record) then it's gonna make me a happy bunny.

I say, let them follow the path they think is appropriate. If they're happy, I'm happy (hopefully)
OBTN was an evident step in their evolution, following BOTT.

You're right, OBTN was only to be expected. If they had gone from YAYM to OBTN, I would've been suspicious but since it was gradual, it's safe to assume that this was their natural evolution as a band.
