M83 is a great and it does make me sad to see all the haters.
A lot of people just don't get it.

M83 might be a great band but they are not great support to a band like KOL!!

The only songs I liked by them were the instrumental stuff they did. They should keep their singing to a minimum in my opinion.

^^^^ Really don't like them at all. It's been said before but I'll say it again - they are like a very poor man's MGMT.

they are like a very poor man's MGMT. I'm a huge fan of both bands and seriously they have NOTHING in common. MGMT have a total 70's psychedelic vibe, especially onstage while M83 is making a kind of synth shoegaze, totally 80's. And I love all the M83 albums, but I really like what Anthony did with the last album, more singing, very poppy. It's probably my favourite after all. Most of my friends are KOL and M83 fans (we all have similar tastes to Jareds actually) and we were all so jealous to see that M83 were the openers of the UK tour. I guess they should have keep them for the European tour and the smaller venues.

^^ I agree, I think M83 would have gone down better in smaller venues. They were totally lost in the arenas, they really fell flat. M83 aren't totally shoegazey though, cos that would make me want to kill them with a rusty blade. I can't believe shoegaze is gettin' trendy again...it really was shit, people! For every My Bloody Valentine there was a Chapterhouse

I only heard M83 twice, opening for KOL in Glasgow and Dublin so I am not qualified to make such statements but personally they weren't my cup of tea. They also weren' the worst band I ever heard but as some folk said they were a rather odd choice of support act for KOL.

aww I love M83 but personally agree with most peeps on here that they werent the best choice of opening act for KOL. Would like to see the Stills again who supported them in 07 tour but Adam Green would be my absolute perfect opener love that boy to bits!
