I can honestly say that there aren't very many songs that really have an affect on me, but this one does. in fact I can't listen to it much because it makes me too sad... the line 'I'm too young to feel this old' really hits me hard, because that's exactly how I feel about my life Absolutely with you on that one. Caleb's got seven years on me, but dammit, I feel that line so bloody keenly.

ok so im getting a tattoo in a few days and i was thinkin of getting "Nobody knows, Nobody sees, Nobody but me"..and i told my friend the other night about it and she's like, "oh that's from Bob Dylan" after much bickering over it..she sent me the link to his song that she was talkin about.. at 2:22 is where he says it.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mS0P-S4AAM&feature=PlayList&p=89B9CB46D7D82609&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=12i dunno how i feel now..because those lyrics were the ones where i totally felt caleb spilled his heart out..and now to find out that they're not so original?? i mean don't get me wrong..they're still amazing lyrics..but yea..definitely feel a bit different now knowing that Bob sang those first..does that make sense? !!

It does Cass, completely...after telling the story of it and stuff...
But then again, if he WAS as drunk as he says he was, he coulda been dredging stuff up from all over his addled mind... still what he was feeling right there, right then...

I think cold desert would be better just caleb and an acoustic guitar - not that i dont think the songs good the way it is - but just calebs voice and a couple of strummed chords? ? BLISS

I think maybe him using that line was a Dylan tribute? And he didn't realize it because of the alcohol...wonder if that's one of his favorite songs?

This song makes me cry everytime I hear it, without fail, I always have to skip it 'cause I just end up blubbing. we had the album playing on the way to my singing lesson and this song was playing while me and my mum were sat in traffic, I remember looking across and we were both sat there crying like fools, it made the song special because me and my mum aren't that close and we just had that little moment to this song.

Ah, I'm I stumbled across this topic. I love the whole end of the song, especially "I'm too young to feel this old", and "nobody knows, nobody sees, nobody but me". In fact I think I'm gonna get a tattoo of that last line, I know someone else has, sorry to steal your idea lol! It was between them two lines, but when I'm 50 or 60 it will be a bit ridiculous having "Too young to feel this old" lol!
And the last line makes me wanna cry most of the time, I don't know why, but it just really gets to me.

hello,
the name fits well to the lyric´s and music´s doings. kinda feelings-> hope and no hope and what happens inside with that simple difference of having this or not. i like it, but its for me only for leaving special emotions out, there it fits. to loose some illness at areas of your mind/ghost. jesus means(told) to have hope without end. so i think cold desert is, when its cold and dark around your own self, maybe one of a perspective to the soul<-as its completely whole.
i love to lissen to this song, when there is to much in me to find the door to leave. to feel how its going on, when he sings that lines, it helps. kind of a medicine or water to wash off. don´t know if its really different to drink to much and do the same that way. but i know that i don´t know. thin line walk somehow. ehm, my real name is demure, earnest = )
ps: for me,to be inside with God, makes this song´s lyric less interesting for my mind. because, there is no place for it anymore.

I, like most of you get really emotional over this song as well. My dad passed away unexpectedly last month and alot of the lyrics are a combo of how I feel now and how I think he felt at the end.
Needless to say I listen to that song every night on my way home from work and I f-ing cry the whole time. haha.
