I've neglected Arizona too much as of late. Got it on repeat now, it's just the meaning of my life I swear. I don't think that makes any sense. I think it was Whiskers who said Nate's drumming in it is like a heartbeat (sorry if I'm wrong?) and the way it all fits in does remind me of a heartbeat. It just fits together like lock and key. In a way sometimes I have to admit I'm glad they don't play it as much as Molly's Chambers say, I think it would ruin how amazing it is. I love the simplicity of it almost, when you break it down. But it's just really tugging at the heart strings. Pretty much sums up why I love them to be honest.

Returned! "I kinda think I like her, I kinda think I dooo" really gets me, especially with the solo after it. And at Glasto 08 after it when it all dies down, if you watch the video the smoke and the lighting makes it so fucking eerie. It's so good. and it builds up and I just get this rush which makes me all on top of the world and proud to say they're my favourite band. I swear nothing else matters because of this masterpiece. and also "shake hands" and the bass and stuff after, makes me look like this >

I just get TOTALLY consumed by this song (esp live!!) Its like an outer body experience or something - half the time i dont know whether to cry with joy or just because im soooooo full of emotion Totally agree about the eeriness - its like your actually out in the middle of the arizona desert - i cant believe that they can make me feel like this through music!!!!!! The bit that always gets me is when he sings ' i hate when that happens' - its like hes smiling at the same time!! JUST AWESOME!!!!

Yes! It really does feel like you're in the middle of the desert! It's amazing!
It is consuming, I feel like I MUST give it my whole attention span. Like it's demanding yet captivating, it wants you to listen but doesn't give you the choice. You HAVE to do it.
♥ makes me heart happy

I know ill ALWAYS be grateful to this band for giving us this song (and all the others!) It just feels like its something so much bigger than me, or when they play live it seems like its bigger than them - like its more than just four people making that sound - TOTAL unity and peace....ahhh i cant describe exactly what i mean and after listening to it i just feel full of joy and peace for like hours

I feel like my life is complete? Corny but so true. Like this is the song for me. They're obviously doing something very right if so many people feel so touched by just this one song.
Do you find when it starts to fade out you're body tries to sort of grasp it back almost? My brain always finds a way of telling me I need to listen to it again and it should never end. And my heart sort of detaches itself from the song?
And when they play it live and Jared's bass runs off and then the all kinda chime in softly to end it, it changes every time but even that gets me going. So simple and done by so many musicians but it just gives it that little bit extra.
Wow I sound like a wierdo!

YES!!! Its as if it was written just for me (i wish!!) Like it fits completely with me I wish it was as long as knocked up - i always have to play it on repeat cos i dont want it to end but then im always scared ill play it too much and ill overplay it and get sick of it (which has never happened and i hope never will!!) And you dont sound wierd - you sound honest

It's really nice to have such a long chat about this song Knocked Up is still too short for me. Well actually I guess maybe if it was longer it'd be too long? I think they're both just right timing they just seem to fly by so quick! Like when I was younger I used to find 3/4 minute songs too long and I could never see myself liking a 7 minute one! Times change luckily

It sure is!!! But i bet those 4 minute songs werent KOL songs?? I actually like how a lot of their songs are really short (llike razz) because in that 2/3 minutes they take the song as far as they can without playing the chorus over about 50 times like other bands tend to - they know when to hold back!! I think thats why knocked up works so well because they knew that that bass line could last 7 minutes and not get old And you're right about Arizona being the right length - it always leaves me wanting more but i always trust the bands judgment - i guess its just wishful thinking on my part

Yes that's a good point they weren't KOL songs! And I agree on the short songs. They're not repetitive and despite being short they accomplish all they could and satisfy me I like the fact KOL are so diverse, they fit all moods and the difference in time lengths of the songs means you can find a song that will tickle your fancy. I'm so gushy about KOL tonight!

Thats what HA's for - to proffess your love for all things KOL!!! Yeah i like how every album has a bit of everything in it but then each album again is different from each other! I guess it comes down to the fact that they're great musicians and great musicians make great music - they just know what sounds good and right for them AND , they've got the balls to make whatever music they feel like without being scared or put under pressure by other people's expectations (might be down to the fact they're family so they are a strong unit?!) And no matter what mood im in theres always a song that fits - who needs any other music??!!

Haha yeah I can go for weeks without listening to anyone else. Time to time I go through phases of branching out, i think it's good and refreshes the love for the Leon!
I do think they're so talented. Yes I am very biased but if they weren't I'd admit to it. Take the new jam for example, rough round the edges and some improvised but blows you away so much. I love it!

haha yeah BOTT is my most prized musical possession I do love OBTN (esp i want you) but its the first album where theres been a song on it that im not really into (notion) which is totally weird for me But its by far their most successful so they're doing something right on it!! Which is great by me

Yeah I didn't love the whole album at first. I admit sometimes I skip Revelry a fair bit. My favourite part of the song is "and I told myself boy away you go" onwards so yeah I think I'm gonna go to sleep now. I'm nearly asleep at the keyboard. Thanks for the chat! Night x
