I am nursing a semi in anticipation for tonight.
They were in Brown last year, a little bar from around the corner of the Arena last year, if anyone fancies stalking it, not that I will be or anything ;-)

Oh. My. God. !!!! 27 songs!!!! In all my years of going to concerts I never thought I would see a band play 27 songs! I can't understand how they kept it going so powerfully all that time. They started with Closer and ended 2 hours later with Black Thumbnail, having played just about all my favourites in between. The new songs sounded so much better live, so much more full of power and energy, the only one that didn't really do it for me live was Cold Desert. Early on in the concert I thought Caleb's voice was starting to go as he missed a couple of the higher notes, so I was willing him to be OK and he was. Fantastic atmosphere in the arena, the noise was deafening when the crowd were screaming and clapping for the encore. It's been about a year since I last saw them, I always thought they were really good musicians but they've exceeded all my expectations. Highlights? Closer, Crawl, Sex On Fire, Fans, Arizona (as always made me cry), Joe's Head, On Call, Charmer, Pistol of Fire, Molly's Chambers, Knocked Up - and most of the others too really.

IT WAS EFFING FANTASTIC!!!!! Everyone who's yet to go, you're gonna be stunned Was gobsmacked at the amount they played...Joe's Head definitely will be a feature by the looks of it, and Trani too!!! Loads off BOTT.... couple of differences from Brighton by the looks of it, no Taper Jean Girl....but still so much Kingly Goodness....I'm still buzzin....and my daughter loved it...came out with really red cheeks (and having been fallen on by a drunk bloke, even in the seats!!!) and saying "Blimey, that was so much better than McFly!" (bearing in mind she's 11). So proud. Arizona made me cry too, and I swear to god I had a spiritual epiphany (or something) during Cold Desert...I couldn't even clap at the end, I just stuffed my scarf in my mouth to stop myself from crying. Utterly stunning. Now MUST get June tickets.

Heading down to the Nottm Arena, I had mixed feelings. Obviously excitement for the gig, I hadn’t seen them for almost a year, but apprehension, as I knew that the place would be filled with Radio 1 listening fans, who only knew Sex on Fire and Use Somebody.
I caught the last bit of the support, they hurt my ears and was glad when they finished their set.
A bit of setting up by the roadies and the 5 minute sign was waved. Lights out, Mozart’s Requiem
Closer was then blasted out, which was amazing to hear live, one of my favourites from Only by the Night. The boys blasted through all four records, including King of the Rodeo, Joes Head, Trani, Charmer, Mcfearless, Four Kicks, Revelry, Milk, Pistol. It was quite special to hear so many songs that I hold close to my heart.
Knocked up always gets me when they come back on for the encore, Nathans drum intro is amazing with the disco ball lights behind.
Playing for 2 hours was quite special and I don’t think I’ll see that again.
It was made even better that Caleb was on fine form and seemed to giving everything he had in every single song. The same can’t be said about Jared who seemed like he didn’t want to be there and couldn’t get off stage fast enough.
He did have a spat with Caleb before they left for the encore, just walking off on his own when they rest of the band waved.
So all in all, I suppose I have to accept that with increased popularity and success, they are going to pick up fake fans along the way.
I’m happy I have been loving them from 2003 when all my friends poked fun at me for liking ‘4 incomprehensible hillbillies with beards’ These same people are now paying £100+ plus for tickets off ebay.
I little bit of me died when you see and hear things from the bandwagon jumpers. Middle aged men wearing Skinny Jeans and checkered shirts, singing their hearts out to sex on Fire, and then trying to sing along to the other songs they’d obviously never heard. People shouting, “come on I paid £25 for this shit, play Sex on Fire so I can go to the bar”. With the bands increased popularity, It’s going to be tougher to get tickets now and people like this shouldn’t bother.”
There is no doubt the Kings are absolutely amazing live and I still love them dearly, but the old stuff still destroys the new stuff.
They’re still (just about) my Kings of Leon, despite their new 5 minute fans, but, for this reason, I won’t be in a hurry to see them tour this record, despite how amazing live they are.

In all my years of going to concerts I never thought I would see a band play 27 songs! You need to see Pearl Jam - they pretty much play between 27-30 songs (over 2 hours) EVERY show! In any event it looks like the boys are taking a leaf out of Pearl Jam's book and are making a concerted effort to give the fans some extra songs and time - this is great news!

^You're right about that! I saw Pearl Jam at Wembley Arena last year and they were on for about 2hrs 30-45 minutes. It was immense.
Glad they are taking a leaf out of their book, that is no bad thing!
