The guys looked like they loved it from the moment they walked on- It seemed people were pretty up for it from the start (crawl- awesome opener!) i think they have taken it into mind that half the people wouldve only listened to OBTN and asked us to sing on SOF- really good night- ill get posting some vids/pics once i have done driving (test this morning ahhh!)

Sorry guys heres my own personal opinion of lastnight and I dont think you'll like it, but im entitled to it! There performance was flawless and brilliant BUT After reading reviews of Brighton, Notts and Newcastle I couldnt wait to get there last night. No Trani (best song ever) No Arizona WHY? The 1hr 50min set that everyones been raving about was actually 1hr 15m with a 10-15m encore The vast majority of the crowd were wooden except for sex on fire n use somebody, but the die hards did a good job of making an atmosphere. Although Joes Head amazed me and there were other hilights I just felt slightly short changed after reading other reviews. This was my 6th time at a KOL gig and for me the worst one. Like I said the Kings were flawless but the whole package of the night just let me down abit For me, bring back the days of Manc Apollo, Donny Dome and Lincoln Engine Shed when it rocked from front to back Like I said thats my opinion, now feel free to tear me to pieces I know some of you will

In reply to the guy above, I was at Nottingham on Tuesday and at Sheffield last night. Nottingham was amazing, it was a really long set, last night felt much shorter for some reason, but was only 4 songs shorter (Trani, Arizona, California Waiting, McFearless) But then we got Notion which we didnt get at Notts! I did notice Caleb constantly with a tissue blowing his nose, wiping his eyes! I dont think he is 100% although you wouldn't have guessed at the performance! I did think the crowd were a bit lifeless in parts! I was sat at Sheffield, front row, first block 3 seats from the stage on Matts side I was stood at Nottingham to the very right of Jared and you tend not to notice the crowd so much as you are in the thick of the crowd but last night some of the people around me were SAT DOWN which totally f*cks me off! Why do they go? ? I was sat 2 seats from a young girl who caught Nathans eye, he threw 2 drum sticks to his security and told them to bring them over to her, she was made up! All in all I really enjoyed it! Really can't complain about the performance at all the only real let down were the boring shites sat near me!

That's so cool of Nathan! I noticed a couple of people sat down at Brighton but they were very front row? Everyone else was dancing on the staircase! I thought I saw Caleb sniffing a lot too, maybe he's not well so that's why it was shorter?

Aw that's nice of Nathan see, this is what I'm worried about at Glasgow : that we won't get Trani or Arizona.

I was bitterly disappointed that they didn't play Trani and I thought the gig was quite average. I was right at the front and had a great view but I thought the band looked bored and absent-minded. I think we didn't get Taper Thin Girl either?

I have to agree with shesawmycombover and jewelz performance was great but a lot of 'new' fans...... I was seated (well thats what it said on my ticket ha ha ha) on second level back row and everyone around me was like dead, me and my mates were rockin away and the people round us was just looking at us as though we were wrong!!!! ... they only came alive when SOF came on.... glad the boys did some of the old ones just to kinda say we know our old fans are out there, but atmosphere was pants in points.
Music wise I really did enjoy, the boys came on 10 mins early so I missed crawl (was in the building but did not want to watch m83 as i heard how crap they were) but loved cold desert, JOE's HEAD, four kicks, molly's chambets and use somebody.
I did also notice Caleb with a tissue so maybe he was a little under the weather but that did not stop his sexy hips from swinging :-)
Hopefully manchester will have a better atmosphere. :-)

well i was there and i f'in loved it. The probl;em with the atmosphere was too many ppl didnt turn up until too late ! I was at the front from the minute i walked into the arena, it was that quiet that i had to go for a P and i wlked more or less in a straight line to the toilets right at the back !! and then walked all the way back to where i was before - right infront of Matt.
My GF was taking video all night on here N95 and has got 90% of the gig !! It going to take a few days to process it, but i will upload somewhere and let everyone know the link !!
As for the music, its was blisteringly fast, the first 10 songs ripped by at speed.
Id agree about the atmosphere, it was a bit wooden, ive never been to sheff before, but off that gig, i dont think i wud go again. Im inbetween manchester and sheff so next time its manchester im afraid !!!
Caleb was really enjoying himself, wether he has the snifs of not. Came right ova to me at one point, another thing is - i thought the sheffield stage is was too small, it just doesnt work for an arean that size !!! and i was constatly obscured but shit they had left on the left hand of the stage !!! in particular matthews head and body was hid behind a mic stack, pissed me off.
Matthew is alwys messing about with his sound, a good few times he had the wrong tones set in his guitar for solo parts, in Closer - it didnt sound right, there was just a few things he didnt get right i felt, and he was always shouting to nacho to sort this and that out !!
OH and M83 are officially CRAP !!!! couldnt here the words, and every song seemed the same, it could have been played in any order and you would have never known !!!

well, this was my first KoL gig and I wasn't disappointed!! got there about 7.30pm whilst M83 were on and was surprised that the floor wasn't already packed out - managed to get quite near the front - couldn't believe how close I got, thought I would be miles back was right in the thick of it for a while and got my hair pulled a couple of times but it was really cool!! it's all a bit of a blur really but as previous post said there were some really good highlights - milk, notion, revelry, four kicks, the bucket, pistol of fire, king of the rodeo and use somebody is epic live! i managed to get video of caleb after closer (which was amazing!) saying 'i'd just like to say man... i don't want to sound like a broken record because i keep saying it every night but just want y'all to know that this is the best year of our lives... and we couldn't think of a way to end it better than be here in england, the place that made us the kings...hope you all enjoyed your night, god bless you all, merry christmas we're Kings of Leon' i was really impressed with the whole show and how they are taking the time to tell us that they know we helped make them - i know it's true but they don't have to say it but they do which is brilliant of them! for people that have seen them before in smaller venues i am so jealous but you are so lucky to have seen them then - OBTN is not my favourite album but everything sounds sooo good live - the power is incredible!! and again everything is note perfect and caleb's voice never wavers - such professionals here's some photos and i'm try and post some of the movie stuff too, if i can - looking forward (understatement!!) to liverpool on monday
grrr! can't seem to post more than one at a time and it's taking ages to upload got to go now but will try over the weekend - avidblue - how was it for you??

hey velvet 10, by the looks of your picture above, you were stood right at the side of me. were u with your boyfriend on the rail to the left of matthew? or are you the one with blond hair at the front who was by herself?
i enjoyed the gig, but i still think it wasnt as good as i thought it was going to be, and was only gutted cos they didnt play Trani, and i thought the atmosphere cud have been better ! I thought the stage was too small, and there was too much crap lying about!
i enjoyed it, but thought the sound wasnt brilliant either, i was expecting to come out with my ears buzzing, but they wernt really?
maybe i had built the whole thing up too much, ive been a fan of kol from the start, bt the setlist was obvious, and the intros are alwsy the same, i knew what was coming all the way thru the event, which kinda did my head in a bit, like the intro to 4kiks and crawl, its always the same, just wish they copped it up a bit more, for the older fans of kol, it seemed like there was ALOT of new kol fans, more new compared to older YYMH fans etc !!
Great pic of caleb. My gf has 90% of the gig on video, will edit it and process it this week and get it uploaded somewhere and give out the link this week so keep your eyes open for it ! its quite good footage !! watched it all when i got home last nite !!
respect everyone.

or are you the one with blond hair at the front who was by herself? I think that would be me I was at Notts on Tuesday and I was at Sheff last night, Notts was definitely the better of the two nights with a longer set and I think the crowd was a little louder in Notts but in no way was Sheff a bad show. I think Caleb is quite sick last night, he was blowing his nose a lot and wiping the sweat from his forehead all the time, also noticed a few dips in his voice, maybe that's why some people thought he wasn't in a good mood? Nate and Matt were in great moods, they kept grinning at each other and grinned at loads of people in the first few rows and in the seats at the side, I couldn't see Jared well enough to judge his mood but I didn't see anything too wrong with him. Back to the show, NOTION! My friend texted me from the Newcastle show and said they'd done it so I was praying for it last night and we got it! Was a shame we didn't get Arizona, Cali or Trani but it was a cracking set! Still got all the oldies, the crowd around me were loving Razz and Wasted Time. Use Somebody is so epic live, I think the crowd were louder for that than they were for SOF! 7th time seeing them last night and they didn't disappoint, I came out with the biggest smile on my face and it's still there now. Oh and I got a drumstick too, did anyone notice Nate throwing them at the security guy all the time and laughing? I got some great pictures last night, here's a few... And here's the rest - www.flickr.com/photos/jayessphotos/sets/72157610734885865/Roll on Manchester!

Great pics I'm wondering whether the shorter set was due to the arena being arsey about finish times? They were very quick to get on after M83, and actually came on at 8.45 instead of 9. It wouldn't surprise me if it was some health and safety nonsense to make sure everyone was out in time for the trams to cope.
